Yeah, my wife and I watch Jeopardy on a regular basis, and every once in a while Alex comes across as kind of a Dick.

BTW: He doesn't directly call her a loser.

I can't remember, was it Will Ferrell or someone else that used to play him as a total dick on SNL?

He always seemed like a bit of a horses ass, but I also wondered if that was him personally, or just his show persona/act of "I have all the answers and you don't.". I guess I'd like to think that's just his act for the show.

Yeah, here it is.

"I have all the answers and you don't."
Yeah, exactly, that is another thing; sometimes he'll correct someone in an arrogant manner. Well Alex, easy for you to say, you have the answers (questions) right there in front of you don't you?

Too bad the presidential candidates aren't as good as the questions they were asked last night during the debate.

Hilary came across as another slimy/lying politician, and Trump was just shooting from the hip with no real/clear plan, even though he did bring up very good points.

While traveling over the past several weeks, via three different airlines, each requested to turn off, not use, do not charge your phone on the plane if you have a Galaxy Note 7. So I wonder if somebody did it anyway......

He turned it off after being asked to, and the thing caught fire AFTER that So that is in some ways even more scary

Wow, that is scary. Major issue.

...Microsoft pouring a bunch of money/resources into another project, go to market too late (again), have 'some' potential, and then abandon it? No, it can't be.

People were making comparisons between the Band and the Zune, which seems pretty accurate - both were pretty much "me too" efforts that came way too late, but were actually pretty decent. Just nobody cared.

It's too bad really. Can't Microsoft see that is part of why they are so negatively thought upon and have very little following?

I had a ZUNE, like you said, it was pretty decent.'

Well, if Microsoft ever gets out of their own way before it is too late, they might have a chance. Their 'Surface' and cloud storage divisions are doing very well..........

Okay, so I watched the premier of WestWorld last night on HBO, and I must say I was not disappointed. I thought it was well done, and I'm ready for more. The cold storage was F'ing creepy.

Okay, for those that did watch it, did you pickup on the tribute song that was playing on the piano in the saloon when it was closing down for the night (~at the 43 minute mark)?

Well what exactly did they think another phone was going to be? It has to, ostensibly at any rate, still act as a phone, right? I mean that is its primary purpose at the end of the day, isn't it? Maybe they should have designed it as a cube, or a pyramid or something else, practicality be damned!

Yeah, I was wondering what people are expecting, a holographic video phone for the wow factor?

About damn time!

Hah! I wonder how long it will be until we do see one though.

WestWorld has to be good or else.

IMO, HBO rarely puts out a bad series, so there's hope there.

You know, it's funny. Whenever I'm downtown I see the people lined up for the food bank they're all smoking. So they can afford $15 for a pack a day but not food? Yeah. Ok.

I bet a lot of those folks are also paying $15 for a hit of smack. That's the nature of addiction: it becomes priority number one. And by many accounts, nicotine is even more addictive than heroin.

I smoked off an on for 20 years. I quit cold turkey 5 years ago and haven't smoked since. And at points when I was young and broke it was never a question of priorities. It's called willpower. Life's about choices. Sometimes I must say no to my desires in order to know I'm truly free.

It's physiologically easier to quit when you're older. And most people do, naturally. Also, not everyone can be as great a human being as a Cutter.

Everyone's body chemistry make-up is different, so some people can become more addicted than others. On that note, it is interesting how some people can live their lives majorly drinking and smoking, with poor diets and live into their 80s and 90s, and then there are some that don't drink or smoke, have a healthy diet and life style, and keel over at a much earlier age.

When our number comes up, it just comes up I guess......

What the hell, suing the users for $18 million? Is that a joke?

For negative reviews? I swear Congress just passed a law relating to retribution against negative reviews on Yelp or something, like a week or two ago. (in the US)

Yeah, I heard a snippet of that too, but can't remember the details. It's absurd!
