SEX:
Sexual activity may be realistically simulated. The general rule is "simulation, yes—the real thing, no".

So, here's my question: This is an 18+ rating. That means available to adults only. So does this mean that no sex at all is allowed in any media in Australia? There are no porn movies for sale? All access to explicit websites is blocked? If so, Wow, I had no clue. If not, why unfairly single out the games media for this restriction?

I was wondering when someone would bring this up.. it's the first thing that struck me. I assume 18+ is the least restrictive rating. So these amount to rules about what ADULTS can purchase/be sold.

Drug use for incentives?
Explicit sex?
Explicit violence?

If I, as an adult, want to play a game (or read a book, watch a movie) with this type of content, who is the government to say that I can't. What about freedom of artistic expression?

I'm surprised the comments here seem, in large part, to willingly accept this as ok.

Umm.. seems odd that the only place I've heard about what could be the most significant medical breakthrough in the history of modern medicine is on a gaming website (well, linked from anyway).

Is this a case of some research that in theory could possibly become something that could maybe be beneficial to humans with a mere 20+ years more research, overblown by some publicist at MIT? Would still be good news if that was the case but the way it's written up makes it seem like we'll all be immune to viruses by next Friday.

Color me (very) guardedly optimistic..

While $100M seems awfully high for a sequel RTS, I can envision where some of the costs are likely coming from:

1. Longer development time than usual - they simply didn't need to hurry to market because the company is doing so well. Time = $

2. Shared code-base of 3D engine with D3 - probably a bigger development budget allocated to the engine development team, since SC is coming out first most of the development costs would be allocated to SC. Depends how they categorize their costs.

3. New Battle.net functionality/system - probably much of the cost of the new *improved* bnet is written into the SC budget.

Just a couple of guesses off the top of my head..

I'd have to agree with the guy who didn't like the cartoony, wow-ish graphics. Love the ip but yawned my way through the trailer. I'm getting pretty sick of the 'cartoon dude in football gear' art style.

Yeah, I know that Blizzard basically ripped it off from GW but it still doesn't make it any better.

Considering they'll probably want to target the console market, I'm not really all that excited about a graphics engine upgrade when the XBOX360 has pretty much set the ceiling for graphics.

I am looking forward to another HL game and Portal 2.
