*EDIT* Ugh, Fig, yet another crowdfunding platform. Oh well, I'll still contribute.

Oh well, I won't.

1) There is no reason to do this on Fig instead of Kickstarter which worked just fine for the first game.

2) I'm not willing to give away my CC info to yet another crowdfunding platform for, maybe, a single pledge.

3) Once fully funded the game will be available for purchase at STEAM/GOG anyway.

You are free to do what you want, but for 1) you are arguing that monopolies are good. What if by using Fig instead of Kickstarter they save money and have more to put towards game development?

2) Most companies won't store your CC info unless you specifically ask them to. It may even be illegal to do without your consent. If you're worried about them stealing it, your CC has fraud protection which means you'll be reimbursed for charges that you don't make. I can't count how many companies I've used my credit card through. I watch my statements but haven't ever seen anything suspicious.

3) Yes, as long as it gets funded it will be available on Steam, etc. I guess the old argument is whether you want to give them your money now so they potentially have more money for development or if you want to give them your money later to reward them for a job well-done or so they potentially have more money for their next game. Totally your choice.

News Comments > Dark Souls III Ringed City DLC in March
8. Re: Dark Souls III Ringed City DLC in March Jan 23, 2017, 13:29 Leper
It feels like it is an incredibly short game that gets people to feel like the game is longer by making you go through the same area dozens of times.

There is a grinding element. The thing is even when you're killing the same enemies over and over, it's still challenging, and you are being rewarded with something worthwhile for your character progression. Plus you're developing your playing skills. So it's essentially practice, and you're only forced to do it because you need it - either your character is too weak or your skills are. When you and your character are good enough, you can get through an area the first time and don't have to fight the same enemies over and over.

Plus, DS2 seems incredibly long to me. Lots of areas already and I'm not sure how much more there is. I'd actually have preferred it to end already so I can move on to DS3.

Exactly, dafuq is this list that was thoroughly debunked on the first page of this thread?

Also, Xbox One launched at $500, PS4 $400, Nintendo Switch $300. But the third one is "expensive".

Don't know what you guys are smoking, but I don't want any.

Not that Nintendo's target audience are members of PC gaming forum, anyway. This is not the console you're looking for. I wish success to Nintendo and will consider picking this up for my nephews who'd love it.

I assume the orange comes from the hooker urine?

Twitter is mostly rotting cesspool - it's fitting Trump would claim it his kingdom. The unfortunate part is now it's boiled over to soil the flag of patriots.

I watched a youtube series on this game- and calling it a game is a stretch. The guy broke it up into 6, 30 minute parts. We all chatted about it and had a cool little community around the series.

That said, I think I got more out of the game enjoying it that way than actually playing it. I would buy it for $5, but no more... I really don't want to support 3 hour experiences with virtually no gameplay. As good as the story is, Firewatch is shallow and empty and most definitely not worth the price. The only way I think I could buy it is if it had a good VR experience and I actually owned a VR headset.

Sorry, but it's definitely a game. The gameplay consists of finding your way to objectives using the map, deciding what dialogue options your character speaks, and enjoying the story, scenery, sounds, dialogue and atmosphere. Maybe not the most exciting game, but then neither was Myst. It sounds like you enjoyed it in your own way as well and it didn't cost you anything, so I don't know what's to complain about. What is the price exactly? I think I paid less for my lunch today.
(I looked it up and it's currently at $12).

No, I bought it yesterday and $20 is probably the cheapest you're going to find it for a while. I only played for like 30 minutes last night but it seems like a quality game to me so far.

Missed this if it was posted in the last few days...but Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is 67% off on Steam as their midweek madness sale.

That brings it under $20...but I'm still hesitant to pull the trigger if the Steam sale is supposedly starting tomorrow

Time I pick this up.

Bought. Definitely worth $20 even for 1/2 - 3/4 of a game (story-wise) based on the negative reviews I've read. Seems unlikely that they'll make another based if the sales of this one are as bad as I assume they are, but who knows.

Who says it's any different? Besides the fact that one has the power to lead the world to chaos... and the other is just running a country.

Not only is it not Disney, it's not Star Wars. Not everything needs to be R rated. It doesn't somehow make the movie better. Granted, I do like the idea of having a SWKOTR movie, but I don't know if the public at large would be interested enough.

BTW, I believe that tomb raider pack "20 Year Celebration" includes all the DLC, season pass, etc.
At least it did when I bought it a month ago. It's not advertised like that, so I was pleasantly surprised and started playing the game. I've been enjoying it.

The new Tomb Raider is great. I got it for free and was kind of bored initially, but the game opens up a lot and has some awesome environments. I read that one of the dev goals was to fill the player with awe with every new environment and I believe they mostly succeeded. All the tombs are optional but unique enough to make you seek them out for the visuals alone. On top of that it's looks great, runs great in DX12 and has a lot of gameplay. I thought I was almost finished with the game and the plot kept expanding. Definitely worth $30.

Any Top 10 without any pre-order nonsense is a happy list in my book. I'm guessing Dishonored 2 will have staying power like DOOM and Fallout 4 as people see that it's being supported and the price drops. I will definitely pick it up in the next few months.

Just finished Rise of the Tomb Raider. I got it for free and thought it was going to be just okay, but it surprised me at every turn. There are so many high quality games these days!

Can't wait until the public beta test is over, the game is patched and goes on sale and then I can finally buy it.

You're taking a risk pre-ordering a game or buying day-one. That's especially true with a game from Bethesda now that reviewers don't get early access.

Hey at least you took a risk and either way it goes, you're part of something big. Just like this year's election, nobody actually knows for sure how things will end even if things are looking one way. The inevitable post-mortem with all the internal dealings will have some entertainment value if nothing else.

Although Videosift is good at finding videos, it's pretty crappy at displaying videos. That's probably the main reason people complain. Especially on mobile.

"Let's investigate this a month+ after the game came out, and nobody pays any attention to the ad anymore! That'll really make it look like we care, and we're Serious Folks who are Not To Be Messed With!"

How else do you do it? The game only came out a few weeks ago. Before that it was impossible to do the compare. So, account for a couple weeks for dissatisfaction to build and make a complaint, a couple of weeks to investigate the validity, and a couple of weeks to formulate and execute a plan of action, and we're at the current date. How could it have been any faster?

It probably couldn't have been faster, but look at what these guys can actually "do."

The ASA has the power to have advertisements it believes are in breach of its code of conduct withdrawn, and prevent them from appearing again

Ooooh, they can make you take the ad down!!! That'll REALLY hurt two months after the game's been released. Where's the 5 million GBP fine?

Their "power" is like the Invisible Boy who can only turn invisible if nobody's watching.

Better than nothing. Even if their power is limited it's still bad publicity for the company and Sony, sets a precedent for further action such as lawsuits and sends an official message.

3. Re: Titanfall 2 4K Trailer Sep 28, 2016, 16:40 Leper
I'm still a bit confused why EA gave them the greenlight to make Titanfall 2, I know the first one was a financial success but that was because on xbox one the selection of games was rather thin. This looks pretty but where is the physics and destruction? Large stompy robot can't even move a shipping crate or down a tree.

I imagine it's cheaper to make a sequel using an existing engine, tweaking assets and adding some features, then to create a new IP. They may have also started working on 2 before 1 was complete which makes it more of a decision to cancel than to greenlight. Like most every company, they want to turn this into a CoD franchise where each iteration has great profit margins.

While I agree this looks like they're pulling out all of the stops, I think I might be a bit disappointed at the setting. The West was super popular back in the early 70s when the original debuted, but much less so these days. I wish they'd chosen a setting that is more popular. Perhaps Medieval World, given the popularity of GoT. Or some kind of Futureworld.

I suppose it could be argued "The West hasn't been done in a while!" And doing The West is probably cheaper than other options, like the Future. Still I can't help feeling like this was a missed opportunity. Roaring20s World would have been awesome.

I'm not that familiar with the material, but is it possible that they could switch worlds? Maybe that would be too gimmicky.
