Exactly what I thought. Hopefully it's good. We could use some good RTS 3d space games with a story.

I think the last one I played was Nexus Jupiter Incident. It was good but it had some quirky things.
Creston wrote on Aug 20, 2014, 18:39:While continued funding is necessary to build Star Citizen at the current level of AAA fidelity and no compromises,
What? Didn't you guys say back way when you started, that you needed 20 to 25 million to make the game fully without compromises. And now you have 50 million, and yet you need more funding to build Star Citizen?
These two statements don't match up. You said you needed 20 or 25 million for the game, and everything extra that you've promised since then should have already been funded through the stretch goals. So why do you NEED more money to keep building this game? I get that it's nice to get more money, but you shouldn't NEED it. You should already have enough money to build this game, and all the stretch goals you've promised, because you already collected money to do those things.

ED has a fully living universe by now and it's expanding, didn't these games start developing around the same time?
CJ_Parker wrote on Aug 20, 2014, 19:53:
With that said, it is definitely very noticeable how Braben & co actually quietly and humbly get shit done and how that Roberts clown showman gets nothing done except "moooaaar sales'n'commercials".

Alpha or pre-alpha or not even born yet, it's certainly not "unreasonable" to expect progress AFTER OVER A FULL YEAR.
CJ_Parker wrote on Aug 11, 2014, 10:33:
Because that's how long the hangar has been out now. Instead of progress we've seen the opposite where more stuff has been broken than fixed (like multi GPU support which actually used to work fine and has now gone with the wind and no comment by the devs whatsoever when it will be fixed). But, yay, we got towels and fish! Awesome!
Eirikrautha wrote on Aug 10, 2014, 10:30:
Sorry, but adding modes to the arena does not seem to be moving this game closer to the very long list of goals that it has. I understand not wanting modellers to sit idle while you are programming, but is RSI seriously telling me with this that their programmers have nothing to do but add modes to the arena? Seriously?![]()

How can they claim to maintain a presence in Austin? The bulk of the studio quit coming to work and the management has moved on. Bad news for Cryengine licensees.

In any case, E:D looks beautiful, but to me it's not the most beautiful space sim ever made.

At least the early backer perk is a lifetime DLC pass and not an in-game towel.

DangerDog wrote on Jul 30, 2014, 15:20:
Yes it's a "paid" beta/early access but this is going to be a niche game and I don't think they're making mad money just yet unlike Star Citizen - which we'll be luck to see it in the same shape as the Elite beta in 2015.

You need to look up what "on-rails" actually means, because it isn't what you think it is.
Hint: for a shooter on-rails, see House of the Dead.

Now about Uplay itself. They give you free games, offered by Ubisoft, and your surprised you can't redeem them anywhere else but Uplay? Really? But yet it's ok for EA to do this?

Out of every form of DRM, online DRM has always proven the worst for customers. Issues with flaky internet, Diablo 3/SimCity/numerous other games whom severs couldn't handle the pounding, etc... Just because something can be down, doesn't mean it's the best/only option.

Purposefully cripple product = unequal treatment. Or, as their own developers put it "is PC only, who cares."

Listen up, homefuck. Before calling others retarded you may want to google hard enuff cuz then you will find a quote from Christ (typo intentional) Roberts where he said that they were aiming for a WW2 feel with regards to the dogfighting style.

Moving and aiming takes some getting used to. It could be more responsive.
I couldn't fly worth shit. Broke out the joystick that I haven't touched in five years (surprised it still works), but every time I try to aim, I overshoot the target. Switched to mouse/keyboard and it was worse. The game needs a "I see you can't fly" option. Just didn't feel good. I did enjoy the graphics though.

AC most certainly does not play like a realistic simulation.
It feels much more arcadey to qualify for a simulation.
Mordhaus wrote on Jun 7, 2014, 20:01:
After flying my hornet in AC, I asked for a refund of my kickstarter. The flight model is not what they promised, you hit the spacebar and basically can just turret in space. It was supposed to be a ww2/star wars style dogfight flight model, but it's the complete opposite.

If it was a singleplayer dogfight module, why was the netcode the hold up?
