Most of these forms of DRM are not aimed at tech-savvy pirates... even Ubisoft know that they can't prevent their games being cracked and distributed to those who know what they're doing. They are aimed at the mainstream market, to prevent the more casual gamers from trading their games back to shops, having 5 friends play the game from one copy, and buy used games for a low price etc.
