One thing I didn't realize was that you can activate Frame Generation without activating DLSS, because in games like Cyberpunk 2077, activating FG also flicks the DLSS switch. However, when you force the DLSS switch back off, it often gives the best results. To me FG gives you more FPS without the loss in image quality that I get from DLSS, I'm currently using it to play Cyberpunk Phantom Liberty with Path Tracing. The only downside is that since the FG frames are inserted artificially in the render pipeline, the responsiveness of the game will feel like the actual fps of the game, for example a game that would render in 30 fps but gets 60 fps with FG will feel as responsive as a 30 fps game.
