That's messed up. While I don't always agree with him, he's one of the few voices of reason in this industry. But he's right, medical technology is advancing pretty fast these days.
Not for Cancer it's not. Harvard Medical categorically declared it to be incurable a few years ago - likely for at least another century. We can catch and beat it if it's small enough and you find it early enough, otherwise the Magic 8 Ball says the prognosis is not good.
Skeptic magazine did an entire magazine dedicated to this a year or so back as well and the results were not good. Some milder forms of cancer - skin cancer - are obviously much easier to beat than others, but overall we've only seen about a 15% increase in sucess against it since the 1950s. That's not very good for an industry that's had 100s of billions of dollars poured into and tens of billions more every year. We'd be far better off putting that money into prevention by subsidizing fresh food and excercise and banning - or at least taxing the shit out of - junk food. They estimate almost 80%-90% of all diseases could be pre-empted like that.

I rage quit AI after being stuck in that goddamned med lab for a few hours. Didn't seem to matter what I did, I could not get the fuck out of there without it killing me. The ambiance in that game was absolutely perfect but the AI for the Alien and how they scripted shit was just infuriating. I rarely get irate when I'm gaming - alone at any rate - but that game had me swearing at the monitor and giving the Alien the finger. The game was far more rage inducing than scary.
I still haven't finished Outlast yet because that freaked me the fuck out! I crawled into the corner and cried like a little girl after about 30 mins of that. Amnesia is the same. I'll man up and give them all another go as Halloween is only 6 weeks out at this point anyway. I've even started watching classic horror flicks again to build up my tolerance.
This is super cool of them and SOMA is on my wishlist for sure. A love macheen for pigs got a lot of neg reviews however. Anyone play it? Thoughts?

If someone here never played Daggerfall, they really should. It's a bit complicated and really throws you in the deep end, but this game is something else. It contains stuff no other game does, in a good way. In a bad way sometimes too, but it's really worth seeing it implemented.

DOH! Remember when FOX wasn't happy with that UCLA guy's Aliens TC mod for DOOM?
That brings back memories.
Don't know how rose-tinted they are but that Aliens mod was the scariest thing I've ever played!
Check those corners!

On the one hand, I think Star Citizen is lurching towards disaster.
On the other hand, Derek Smart is an unsuccessful pseudo-developer who has no idea what he's talking about and no writing skill to speak of.
So technically I can't lose. Either way, some shithead is going down.
