Kind of a shame. This looks like a promising little project, but I doubt they'll get the amount they want at this rate.

Oh man, I saw 3079 being played on Yogscast. It makes Minecraft look like Crysis 2.

I took a look at the Ace of Spades video earlier. It looked even more horrible visually, and very rough. Though I do like the gravity affecting suspended blocks. And it's free.

I've seen several claims of cc fraud on Arstechnica since this started, but I thought it might have just been coincidence. I warned my brother, whose son has a PS3, to monitor his credit card, and he said they'd already been called about an odd charge, the same weekend this started.

So yah, little TOO much of a coincidence. I'm not buying Sony's "cc info was encrypted". Knowing them, they encrypted it with the same key that was used to crack the PS3.

I got a virus once by visiting Foxnews.com (for amusement, not news). Turns out their ad rotator would occasionally serve up a virus rather than an ad.

I paid these guys about a years worth of subscription fees and didn't hardly ever play. Got the game shortly before WOTLK WoW came out, which killed it for me.

No, because by then Activision will have flatlined the matchmaking servers. They'll want you to move on to MW13: Space Combat by then.

Yes, perhaps the games industry could learn from the exemplary project estimation and management capabilities of other sectors like construction, health, aviation, banking, military and government.

As for looking at their peers in the software industry... this would be the same industry that coined the term death march project, and where the difficulty of project management has spawned an entire "agile" industry, dedicated to avoiding the complexity and risk of long-term project development.

Anyone who thinks they can set an accurate budgetary estimate for a software project (which is almost 100% dependent on labour) as well as break new ground has to be kidding themselves.

What industry isn't 100% dependent on labor?

If you need 30 million dollars for a game, then find out you've underestimated your budget, you deserve to get your dumb ass fired.

Unless you're making something in the vein of GTA5, the idea that you need more that much money for a game is insane.

But how will the company founders afford their gold plated shark tanks? Won't you think of the execs?

Of course they're gonna cancel the Syndicate game and keep the Jason Bourne game. Which one translates to the mass-console market better, and already has its advertising paid for?

I have the ps3 variant (the fragenstein). It's trash. Your accuracy improves a bit, but at the cost of actually enjoying the game, because it's so jittery and unresponsive. Snap-to shots are easier, but fine aim adjustment (while scoping in, for instance) is destroyed; completely unresponsive.
