Unfortunate. This is the last KS I kicked in to, as I loved the idea of setting up my own barricaded fortress. Maybe this is a Phil Fish situation, where a former dev or financier wanted to take their ball and go home.

Quite frankly, the isometric aspect, forced by painted backgrounds, was overrated as an important component of this type of game. I'd love to, at a minimum, have a freely-rotating camera, as well as tilt down and up and even a limited zoom range.
Well you know there man, kickstarter is right over there. If you're not a fan of it just make your own game. I'm a huge fan of isometric games. Rotatable 3d is okay, but there are occasionally some very human touches that can be done with the static isometric, instead of copy and paste texture maps for rotatable 3d.

I love isometric games, and I love the fact that it WON'T be rotatable. I've tried to get into NWN 2, and can't get over the horrid controls. The controls should NOT be part of the "experience". I don't think you should remember a game because of its poor controls.

I thought the same thing, but the game looks compelling to me. It's basically just Minecraft with a prettier engine, and guns. It looks like it'll be a blast multiplayer.

Now Oculus will get megatexture, err megadisplay technology! Just kidding. Everyone always rags on Carmack, but he really is a genius. He's a walking TI-89.

Damn...I ignored this when I first saw it pop up on kickstarter, and didn't even bother to watch the pitch video. It actually looks really good.

What's next, a game where you play a blind character? The screen is black the entire game, and you try to avoid the zombies using your remaining senses?

It's not like Romero's original idea (of a hero with Thor's hammer running around fighting a bad guy named Quake) was all that fleshed out anyways.

Masters of Doom is a pretty good read and describes what went down. Romero spent most of his time being a rock star and deathmatching during company hours, and the other guys were frustrated that he wasn't guiding them in any particular direction. When the tech was finally locked down, everyone was burned out and agreed to throw together a simple game in under a year. I'd say it's Quake's weirdness and disjointedness that made it so special, but part of its appeal was that it was the only thing around. If you did Quake nowadays, it would be as successful as Rage...

So that's what it would be like to play a FPS on an old black and white TV (with insane contrast). When will devs learn? It's not about a gimmick, it's about game play.

They would have been better off doing another 2D game, I think. This will probably remind people too much of Ultima 9. If you've never played it, go check out The Spoony Experiment website, and watch his review.

I haven't played very much of this yet, but from what I did play, I think I got my $15 worth backing it. The real worth in this is the modability. NWN to me had a lackluster campaign, but there were some quality mods released for it.

Those Beats headphones are such a rip-off. Designed by Monster, the company known for selling way overpriced stereo cables. I watch people walking around with those things on, and then watch a movie like National Lampoon's Vacation and laugh. The headphones the kids wear in that movie were SMALLER than the Beats headphones. We're going forward, in reverse.

I loved Aliens 3 (just not at release...first time I saw it, I was disappointed). I think the big thing about Aliens 3, is that it is so grim. The other two movies start with some levity, then get to the killing (in the end, most everyone dies, regardless of which movie it is). Aliens 3 kills off two main characters before it even gets going, and it's all downhill from there.

I live just off the Gulf down in South-Texas. In the summer, it's not unusual to get 100+ F weather, but usually our proximity to the water keeps it in the 90's (with the higher humidity making it feel worse). That being said, we had one day a couple of weeks ago where the temperature in the shade was 107 F (right before a front). A/C companies must be loving this weather.

So....apart from the XBone, what else falls under Devices?? Is Microsoft going to be making mice again?

I for one want them to start making flight sticks again, there is a serious lack of competition with regards to Thrustmaster and Saitek...

She'll create a "joystick" in the shape of a ship's wheel and tell you how it's better for you, offers more control, and that everyone loves it!

Then it will be bundled with and required to use Windows 9.
I heard that you need a persistent internet connection in order to use it.

I heard that the Kinect watches you while you shower. :/

Alien Rage? Isn't that what they call the fan reaction to Aliens: Colonial Marines?
