You must be kidding. 60$ for a game and charged anywhere from 10$ to 40$ or more for DLC that should have been included in the game anyway? It's a digital product so there is nothing "tangible" to own.It's just another way for companies to have more control over products that do not really exist so they can have more leverage and control over thier customers and squeeze still more money from your pockets.

Companies either need to continue manufacturing discs so gamers can buy/sell/trade thier legally purchased copies or offer at least 50 % buyback value on digital copies considerering the cost of DLC and the cost of services like Xbox Live just to play the game.

I game on both PC and consoles and it by far cheaper to game on a PC.

I may be over-simplifying even more ( please forgive me ), but this is kinda like some bizarre fiduciary fencing match. "Game Of Thrones" with money if you will. On the outset it looks like Kotick saved the day "kinda" but it seems he did it by sleeping with more potential enemies. I don't like at all how gaming is being run by huge mega-corps and conglomerates- made up primarily of people who do not game. I am not a tree-hugging hippy (and no disrespect to the tree hugging hippies) but the whole "tiny company makes a great game loaded with F-U-N and makes a great living and are heroes in the community that lived happily ever after" days are GONE. Now the corporate bottom line rules-period.

I really would like it if Valve would work on either HL3 or ep3. Black Mesa was very impressive in my opinion and although it was put out on a very loooooong time-table at least the team gave us updates on thier progress. They didn't make one penny and I would have gladly paid for it. I'm also glad that Valve made the dive into Linux supporting Linux gamers out there...but please-all these people waiting so long for something that could easily be game-of-year type matierial with the storyline tie-ins and wrap ups alone ( thinking Aperture here ).

In a nutshell I think Valve should cut back on all the hoo-hah ooh-ahh projects and spend some or more resources on finishing up "unfinished business".

Just my two cents worth.

It'll never win/go through/happen though. It's too geeky/technical of a lawsuit, and I'm sure the EULA has boilerplate allowing Blizzard access to all your money and to fuck your wife on your wedding night.

This game didn't cause mesothelioma from playing it. Granted the situation is awful but a lawsuit? I had a feeling it might not be a good game but per all I have read here and at RPS ;OMG the pain it's evidently much worse than the last entry from SEGA,and for many more reasons than just my concerns about pre-released DLC and no map editor.

At the very least I am sure there will be patches to correct some bugs/glitches, but I still feel this steaming pile of tripe isn't worth more than $9.99 in the bargain bin or on STEAM.

It does make me sad though that such a great franchise that has all the ingredients to be a great game hasn't had a truly "great" game come out of it yet. Now that we have all this "AlienS" flavored wreckage if anyone attempts another one the reception will most likely be the sound of eyeballs rolling accompanied by "Really ?"

Put your money where your mouth is Darks...I don't have a problem with the game/franchise/movies etc... I have a problem with the treatment of it and the way the game companies (this one as an example and in particular because I have enjoyed the franchise since it's inception) continually re-hash the same stuff over and over. I don't/won't/haven't bought any DLC for any ALIENS related games in years( not since the original AVP/AVP gold titles) because the last time it was done correctly IMHO was within the above mentioned titles. I never mentioned Oblivion and have never played it.

I also don't have a problem with DLC or paying for it WHEN IT MERITS IT. All they are doing by pre-releasing DLC is testing the waters and seeing what kind of $$$ they will potentally garner. What if you are a huge fan of the Franchise and actually spend your money on this DLC before the games release and the game sucks? How about just making a great game to start with that is worth $60 and not breaking into bite sized chunks we have to purchase separately for the whole experience? How about a map editor? It's not as simple as you would have it, nor is it hypocritical.
