I really just want Empire 2. Once it is all patched and modded, the original is still a lot of fun.

I really want Empire II: Total War. I don't think I'm going to get it though, sadly.

I'm going to sit this one out. After Diablo: Immortal, I don't know how anyone can trust a word out of their PR droids about anything.

Garriott was a pioneer in the gaming industry, for sure. But this was back in a time when games were *far* less complicated to design and imagination made up a lot of the magic for people playing them. Those days are long over and they're not coming back. The industry has evolved, but Garriott hasn't, except in his ambition to exploit buzzwords and current trends to make a quick buck. Shroud of the Avatar was the final proof that he simply can't design games for the modern era and that he can't be trusted to keep his word when money is involved.

Fortnite No Build Mode with vampires, basically.

These petitions never go anywhere. EA will not refund anyone's money for this game any more than they did with Anthem. That being said, all this negative noise around BF2042 reinforces the public's perception that EA is simply abusing customer trust and is content to destroy their franchises for short-term profit (something people who have been following EA have realized for a while now).

This is giving me Anthem 2.0 vibes. My bet is that they will release the bare minimum to meet their legal obligations and then put the game in maintenance mode.

I feel bad for the people who bought this game. DICE/EA tried to turn Battlefield into a cash cow for MTX like Apex Legends and to try to appeal to a younger audience, hoping to steal people from COD and Fortnite. Instead, they were forced to switch gears away from Battle Royale mid-development and just wound up releasing an unfinished mess and betraying their core fanbase in the process.

Ready or Not is as close as you're going to get. Ubisoft has no interest in making games like that anymore. They want that sweet "live service" revenue.

This game is a lot like Darkest Dungeon except you're the bad guys. It's totally worth getting for free.

This is one franchise that really needs to take a year or two off. Especially with all of the negative sentiment around Activision-Blizzard right now.

I have no problem with female protagonists in video games. I own a bunch of them and enjoy them. I have female characters in some MMOs. Those are fantasy games or alternative history. I'm just tired of games that claim to be an "authentic WW-whatever experience", first COD WW2 and now this game, that feel an absolute need to rewrite history to be politically correct based on today's standards and not the standards of the period they are set in.

Personally, I don't understand what drives this agenda on almost every level in this industry now. But hey, you know, string me up for having a viewpoint that differs from yours. Whatever. This comment board is full of people who love to play holier-than-thou and crucify others who have differing opinions even resorting to pretty immature personal attacks. So be it. I'm done wasting my time.

Because personal attacks make you look smart, am I right? But you know, I don't need to stoop to your level mate and I won't because I'm a better person than that. I think instead of playing "chess" and spending money on EA's latest spew I'll play classics like Bad Company 2, one of the last good games EA made, or indie titles from studios that actually try to make a quality product.

I had to talk to my nephews and my sister about Fortnite since they were starting to spend all their allowances on VBucks. She put a stop to it. Good on Epic for making a hit but it's turning really young kids (under 10) into microtransaction junkies.

As for BF5, nope, nope and nope. Not interested in another WW2 shooter that panders to SJWs. I'm a liberal but I like my games to be historically accurate.

I am not willing to forgive them putting the game out as pay-to-win with gambling boxes then only walking it back once the money started to dry up. It's a no sale for me at any price.

Barebones or unfinished features, a sticker price and over-the-top microtransaction bollocks according to some of the reviews. Smells like a cash grab to me. I expect it to be dead in a few months.

Are they still using the same copy-pasta assets and engine? I haven't bought a CoD rehash in years.
