Seems there are some consequences for lack of ethics and attacking your own customers that feed you. Traffic in many of the sites associated to the gamer's death debacle is sharply down.

Also, a gamasutra article may have lead to the downgrade of the author of it. People are trying to find more details.

10 Things You Need To Know About The #GamerGate Scandal

"Articles everywhere have sprung up overnight claiming that ‘gamers are dead’, or ‘gamers are killing gamers’. Chances are you’ve seen one of these articles with whatever sensationalist title they’ve used to draw you in, but why are people saying this? What does #GamerGate mean?

Well, to put it simply, the general gaming public are concerned with the quality and integrity of video game journalism. Much evidence has surfaced over the past few weeks that exposes many gaming journalists have personal ties with the people they sponsor and write about. Type in #gamergate on any social media site (Twitter and Tumblr being the most bountiful) to be flourished with a wave of evidence supporting this.

And how have the journalists over at Kotaku and Polygon and the like reacted to this? With interesting and critical analysis of their own practices and methods? No. Fact-checking all the sides of the debate before coming to a reasonable and logical conclusion? No – just pointing fingers at gamers and saying that they are to blame. With this barrage of accusations from journalists and their followers, it can be pretty difficult to find out what GamerGate is truly about.

This article should help clear things up."

Is Radical Feminism Hindering the Progress of Video Games?

"Before I begin let me state that this article isn’t some hate filled rant about how women are evil or how feminism is ruining video games and life for men. Of course, some radical types will see the title and see that it’s written by a man and immediately mark it down as sexism, but I hope the rest of you will give it a chance as I try to explain how the radical feminist movement is actually hindering the progress of video games rather than helping it achieve the diversity that they wish for. Over the past few weeks there has been a lot of mention in the media of Zoe Quinn, the developer behind Depression Quest and her rise to power in the video game industry. You can read more about this here but for the time being I’ll be ignoring this completely. In this article I’ll be exploring some of the points that are brought up by feminists concerning sexism in video games and how not only are these points incorrect but how they are damaging the actual feminist movement."

Lying, Greedy, Promiscuous Feminist Bullies are Tearing the Video Game Industry Apart

"It's a fact of life that the video games industry is awash with marginalised, troubled people who have found it difficult to manage their lives in mainstream society. It's particularly the case when you look at independent or "indie" video game developers, a remarkable proportion of whom suffer from depression or anxiety disorders. Many of these people end up as enthusiastic campaigners for one or more causes they feel deserve wider attention.

The journalists who cover games and gamers are subject to similar peculiarities and challenges, which perhaps explains widespread frustration from players that every blog out there seems more concerned with policing misogyny and "transphobia" than reviewing the latest game releases. As a result, gaming sites and their readers have drifted apart in recent years. Journalists have sided with activists to pen soporific op-eds about the need for "equality" in video games, while the people who actually play games just want to know if the latest instalment is good value for money.

Meanwhile, there have been grumbles that journalists are getting too close to their subjects, and that they speak ever more insultingly about their bread and butter customers – that is, their predominantly male readers – the longer they spend in the company of feminist activists and other agitators."

Powerful article by Milo Yiannopoulos who already got death threats over it. His response on twitter:

Email death threat count now in double figures. Things I won't be doing: calling the police, making a video, writing a blog post. #GamerGate

Article critical of the agendas in the gaming press.

"Game developers should be able to develop whatever games they want. If a game developer wants their protagonist to be a white, straight, cis male, that should be okay. If a game developer wants their protagonist to be a black, lesbian, transgendered female, that should be okay, too. If a game developer wants their protagonist to be a busty girl wearing nothing more than dental floss, that should also be okay.

Game developers should be free to develop any kind of game they want, with whatever content they want, with whatever protagonist they want - and that includes straight, white, cis males. No game developer should feel obligated to please every possible minority. No game developer should feel obligated to be 100% politically correct at all times. And no game journalist should feel entitled to slander game developers for developing content that isn't aimed towards them."

Given her bio, I wouldn't expect anything different. :)

See, this highlights the problem: Because we were given her conclusion, but not her analysis or arguments, we're left with discussing her bio, and it's not leading to anything constructive. This is why people really need to stop posting only assertions/conclusions. And ignore those who do.

Well, true. I'd like to see her in-depth discussion on this. But since that doesn't exist, all I can do is look at her bio and find that it fits perfectly with exactly everything else she's done. I suppose her arguments would probably be the same ones as in her books, which I've not read. Finding out that she's paid by the AEI makes me suspicious of her motives.

Like I've said, she's linked to a lot of pretty disgusting stuff. She has however been writing a lot of tweets on this. Here's her account. Let me paraphrase the tweets in chronological order, without the retweets she made. No context other than the tweets themselves but I think they clear things up on her position on this affair.

It is clear that gamers are being bullied by opportunistic,evidence-free gender warriors. But who are the enablers?Game companies? Bloggers?

Christina H. Sommers @CHSommers · 21h
Women would cry foul if little group of male bloggers started "critiquing" & policing their romance novels or fashion magazines.

Christina H. Sommers @CHSommers · 21h
@RollyKahn Interesting. When feminists tried to "correct" sexist themes in romance novels in 80s, they were reviled by readers & industry.

The argument is lost and you stand alongside him.

Yet, at PAX, the argument was thriving and, frankly, far less of an argument than one may think. Anita's name was met with cheers. Developers keep coming out in support of changing the industry and, like in the case of Saints Row, admitting how poorly they'd done in the past. The build of Fortnite I played was only men, but the developers were saying it's due to the characters being somewhat placeholder and there will be plenty of women in the game, that their experiences in GoW had shown them how the old days of female character design were dead.

Because PAX represents the whole gaming world, including all gamers, right?

Christina Sommers is a real winner.

Citation on the wonderful work her employer, the American Enterprise Institute, does to make sure the Koch Brothers and their peers stay super rich while the rest of us suffer.
This is a woman you want to cite for common sense?

Damn me but I'm loving playing this game. I had my strong doubts during the kickstarter but boy have I never been gladder to have been proved dead wrong before.

It is good to see Braben didn't lost sight of what made Elite and Frontier great and it's even better to see that he can build on it, expand on it and still make a cracking awesome game.

This is a big one. Christina Sommers, one of the big names of the feminist movement, tweeted this:

This only shows the wide rift between real feminists/humanitarians and SJWs.

Interesting article written by a feminist about this past week.

Works like this:

Saint's Row Director responds to being criticized by Sarkeesian and having Saint's Row included in her video:

"This something we all should be better at. Yes the orignial saints row is listed here. Yes it should be."
“I think that we shouldn’t be portraying senseless abused women and I think that if I could go back and hop in a time machine I would have done things differently.”

“I think it’s fair to be called out on your shit. I think that it’s a sad man that can never be self-reflective. I think that we tried to go and carry ourselves with respect, and try to respect sexuality and respect gender as much as we can, and sometimes we fail but hopefully we’ll do better and continue to get better.”

Roger that. Also, I do check for malware on the sites but then again I have adblock, Ghostery and Privacy Badger active.

Adding on to this, here are some choice quotes from the Reddit link that Mashiki Amiketo kindly linked us to, and where he and possibly ASeven get their information:

"So this is a thing," which is a discussion about a PAX Prime panel about what the industry is like for people that aren't straight, white, cisgendered males.
Here are some choice comments:

"Even though straight white cisgendered men are not a majority, "
