Nah, that's not true. Most of the people who played Bloodlines did so without any of the community fixes. I played the game at launch and thought it was awesome even with all the jank.

Hang on, weren't doctor and scientist basic careers in the other 3?

is this game anything new from previous mmos? is the combat still ability spam/cooldown/autotarget?
Ability spam, well, it wouldn't be much of an RPG if you didn't have abilities to use. That being said, you do use your normal attacks quite often as well, it isn't nonstop ability spam. Cooldowns, not really, most skills you can use as often as you wish until you run out of mana/stamina. Autotarget, yes and no. You have to actually aim at your target, however your attacks do "zone in" on your target as long as you are pointing in their direction.
Combat is a little more involved than many MMO's, you can block attacks, interrupt attacks, and even dodge many of them. So yes, better than the average MMO of late.
In reference to the guild banks being taken down, they shouldn't even exist. The game desperately needs a global AH, it is incredibly difficult for the average person to sell their items without a lot of effort, you often see folk complaining about full inventories/banks.

Thief is not as bad as everyone seems to suggest.
What do you mean "seems"? And yes, yes it is. The only thing I give it a positive nod for is the artwork. The look of the city is right. Everything else? No.

I have a friend at work who comes to me with his computer needs since I'm the closest thing to a computer geek he knows. Yesterday he brought me his brand new laptop and said in an exasperated tone "Please take this thing and put Windows 7 on it. I just can't use windows 8 anymore. It is AWFUL." He is a low tech, lite PC user. This is the exact type of person that Windows 8 was supposed to appeal to, and he can't get away from it fast enough.
I am leaning towards leaving Windows 8 on it and just installing Classic Shell; I suspect that is the far easier solution.

Like how they list Other PC features.
Love it! Again I'm pleasantly surprised. Very surprised by the ability to manuallyjumpsave the same way as in DE:HR! I always love to do a quicksave and then just play around and try silly things.
Also, FOV slider! Woo!!

Awesome, well this honestly was the only fucking MMORPG that I've ever given a shit about. I have loved Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim with all my heart, they were without a doubt my most favorite games ever! For some stupid, fucking ridiculous reason I was hoping this game was actually going to be good? The Elder Scrolls games are a proven formula for a game that actually works! HOW the fucking hell are these developers not able to use this to make a online game that's awesome? Please tell me, is it that much of a stretch to put this universe into an MMO successfully? Well NIN said it best and most simple; I simply haven't heard anything good about this game. Either way, I seriously believe it's going to be a very long time before I give one shit about any other MMO. Honestly, I'm heartbroken and I feel like I'm going to VOMIT. Fuck it either way, this is the last time I will ever comment on this game again. Ever.

I'm thinking Windows 9 might be the end of every other Windows release being ok. Prediction: They'll stick with Metro/Big Icons/Walled Garden
Fuck M$, http://www.classicshell.net/ works perfectly (I use it on Server 2012 boxes because remoting 4 sessions trying to deal with Metro = /wrists...).
