I simply can't take Steam's rapid growth in the last year or so seriously. How many of the accounts are 2nd, 3rd, 4th (or more) accounts for one person to farm cards in these ARG games to sell for free money?

Not Obsidian.
Of course not. After they shat all over publishers during their KS with vicious remarks against the EVUUUHHHLLL PUBLISHER OVERLORDS like Bethesda, I'm not surprised they are no longer getting any work.

I wonder what's going to happen to Desura. If the digital distribution platform is taken offline, and everyone loses their libraries, it won't be pretty. This might turn into a small preview of the Steampocalypse.
I've been saying this for years. People prefer ignorance and "convenience" though
some latent part of me still feels this way but, really, this is like not using gmail because you're just anticipating google goes under and takes all your email with it. how likely do we think this is going to be after 11 years of the platform being the center of the pc universe?
just as soon worry about the inevitability of resource depletion and electricity failure preventing you from playing games, too.

They didn't announce it today so it's over. It would seem Valve is out of games development entirely now.
...except for the whole continuing very active support on 3 of the most popular PC multi-player games on the planet.
