Forget Diablo. Path of Exile and Grim Dawn have taken up the torch.

Abandon Ship!

Head to Grim Dawn or Path of Exile, ARPG players. Either game is better at this point.

I'm also keeping an eye on Wolcen, hopefully that turns out awesome.

Salient point is, Blizzard has abandoned Diablo 3, and/or put their 5th or 6th stringers on it.

So true. I play POE when they release new leagues (currently 88 cyclone in Breach league), and Grim Dawn when I'm in a more single player mood. Both are much, much better than Diablo 3.

Haven't heard of Wolcen, will check it out.

Why aren't there more modern games like Magic Carpet?

1. Re: Battlerite & Line of Sight Free Weekends Dec 1, 2016, 19:11 Esoteric

Battlerite is pretty fun. The combat is similar to MOBA team-fights, but it's all skill-based. No frills, no items, no leveling up. Just pure skill-based, reaction time deathmatch. Good stuff.

It is going F2P next year, but buying in now will get you all future characters that are released.

It's gotten quite a bit better with trinkets, contracts, etc. And the base gameplay is pretty fun. No reason not to give it a try if it's free. You'll have enough fun on the free weekend to make it worth your time even if you don't decide to buy it, IMO.

This is a good game, especially with friends. Definitely worth the download to try if you're on the fence.

Probably a good idea for them.

This, for example. It's an interesting read from a VR arcade company in Canaday. VR "arcades" could be a thing, since it's relatively expensive at the moment to go into VR on a personal level (not even including the needed space).

I almost bought this then remembered skyrim special edition is 7 days away...and free since I already have the legendary in steam.

Do I get anything if I just own the base game?

I'm liking Battleborn a lot. Apologies for a positive message on this site, but I'm playing with friends and having a blast, both PvE and PvP. Never have trouble finding a match on PC. That said, I like Overwatch too! Very different games, though.

I think there was a deal where you could get Doom for 40% off if you also got it bundled with a Steam controller or something like that.

Although I'm liking Battleborn quite a bit more, I think I'll have enough fun in OW to warrant picking it up for 40. OW is more polished than BB, but I find BB to be more fun and have more depth. Very different kind of games.

2. Re: Battleborn Open Beta by the Numbers Apr 22, 2016, 23:01 Esoteric

I almost didn't try the beta, the game wasn't really on my radar, and what I did know of it I wasn't too impressed. Tried the beta because a friend asked me to play, and I liked it a lot more than I thought I would. So much so that I've already pre-ordered it.

Also going to get Overwatch. Although they're both coming out near each other, they're completely different games, I really had fun with both in each beta.
