I recall hearing Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky had ideas on how to bring more depth to mmogs, but instead Valve and Activision killed them.

Dogs, cats, horses, sure...
What about birds, reptiles and gigantic bug monsters?

For those who purchased today, pre-purchased, or know somebody who has, EA screwed things up a little.
The initial wave of Sims 3 Pets (PC) includes a limited edition pet shop. Future shipments of the product will not have this item available, according to EA. This, in itself, is not an issue, but rather the distribution OF the pet shop.
The shop itself was not included on disk. This was not an oversight; but what WAS an oversight was neglecting to include instructions on how to acquire the pet shop.
Go to the official site, thesims3.ea.com. Login to the site. Register your product. If you bought the title digitally, you still have to do this, even if through Origin (in spite of Origin and the official Sims 3 site being linked).
Go to the Store section of the site.
Click on My Account.
Click on Purchase History.
Download the pet store from there.

Too bad they never fixed the incredibly bland campaign for Retribution.
