Hey, I have an idea. Maybe EA can make an FPS called "Cartel," and Paradox can make a squad-based RTS called "Syndicate." That work for everyone?

Hey! Stop that! Go take your common sense somewhere else. The world doesn't want any of it.

OOOOOOOkay here's a bit of common sense for you:

It doesn't matter what a game is called as long as it's fun to play.

That fanboys don't seem to realize this is the reason they are getting shat on. This is because as the game has that particular name it means they will go and buy it anyway and thus do not need to be otherwise catered for by the big evil company that just wants to make as much money as possible, who will then just pitch it to drag in as many other punters as possible. Quite a satisfying little karmic circle really...

I thought that's what I was saying? OOOOOOOkay? That EA should make a good game that sells because it's a good game rather than try to trick Syndicate fans?

Oh boy. Another level cap boost. Nothing like making the grind longer for everyone just to temporarily satisfy the pros.

A world of wonder, a land of beauty, across the mountains and over the sea but I still haven't found any diamonds.

I've been walking around for miles, still no diamonds to be found. Maybe I should look underground?

Cute. So he's honest and mentions one positive side of supporting the console and everyone on bluesnews starts chomping at the bit and making fun of him because they don't quite understand what he's saying.

Indeed we do need some /facepalm images.

Could you please explain what we're missing?

Oh thank goodness, because really the console audience is so neglected these days, and if there's one thing PC gamers love to hear, it's that their game is being tailored to console gamers.

So instead of funding an original idea they give a sequel to Red Dawn: The Game, which nobody really liked.

OK, whatever.

I just love it when they pay lipservice to the D&D fans. Not even D&D 4e is a fun time for fans of D&D.

I miss Baldur's Gate.

OK, I know this is kind of specific so please bear with me.

I want revolvers that you can reload without removing the entire cylinder. That seems to be the new "thing" these days, that a revolver cylinder is actually a big chunky magazine and you replace the whole thing. Doesn't make sense to me that your sniper rifle has a speedloader but you're throwing out entire pieces of your revolver every two shots.

Deus Ex broke my heart. C'mon, Gearbox.

Women are belittled, that's bad, feminism is good, and whether a particular feminist is or is not a whore has more to do with their personality and choices than their feminism.

This looks like someone being unprofessional and stupid rather than a sign of a conspiracy to keep women down. Mountains, molehills, etc.

If you're "never going to please everyone," and the "everyone" in question includes "fans of Syndicate," maybe you shouldn't make a Syndicate game.

I love World of Battleshipscraft. The other day I found a purple Triple 5" Gun Turret. Normally I only find Destroyer crap, so it's nice to find some good Cruiser gear now and then.

Why does a "classic" gaming IP have to be limited to only one genre? There are Star Wars space sims, shooters/action games, strategy games and even a racing game that isn't that bad. I haven't heard a ton of people crying out that WH40k Space Marine isn't a strategy game. These sorts of things can be fine if a) the game itself doesn't suck b) they stick with the setting and feel of the originals. Of course, there's no guarantee either of those things will happen.

Maybe because we've been waiting 20 years for more of the gameplay we loved, and instead we get something made to appeal to an entirely different crowd? If they can make a good FPS, they can make a good FPS that isn't about Syndicate.
