Do you need to set off nukes to restart the core of the earth?

From that description it sounds a lot like, "hey, remember the Companion Cube level? Wouldn't it be awesome if we made an entire game out of that?"

I don't really see how an online pass immediately translates to always-on DRM. The purpose of the pass is to get money out of people who buy the game used.

When was the last time you bought a used PC game?

Is it too much to ask for a NWN style game based on Shadowrun where were can play co-op with some nice graphics and create and build our own missions?

I think there's just not enough money in the SR license to justify that type of an expense anymore, at least not in today's market. Sadly. An NWN style system in the SR universe might genuinely be the last game I'd ever buy.

Creston

There USED to be enough money in the SR license, but the squandered it.

Also I'm disturbed about the callousness of murdering non combatants.

That's about the only thing I liked in that video. The thing I remember most about Syndicate was how brutal the gameplay could be, the dread of the approaching agents, civvies getting mowed down in crossfire.

Or using the Persuadertron to recruit an army of mindless civilians, who would then pick up whatever guns they found on the ground and gladly serve as cannon fodder. But it's OK, because in their head they're in a park shooting rainbow guns at butterflies.

So basically it's Deus Ex if you put all your points into guns. Great. Totally what I was looking for, because I don't know what "good" is, and forgot why I liked Syndicate in the first place.

I am dumb.

Yeah, it's hard releasing a game late in a console cycle, when everyone... knows how to program for the console, and all the customers have the console, and there's nothing better to draw them away yet.

Those were bad but I have to agree with Jerykk, Mass Effect 2 is one of the worst ports I've seen in a long time. The only reason it didn't get more shit from players is because its A) Mass Effect and B) its stable. Everything from the UI to the AWESOME BUTAN philosophy of interaction was very poorly done. In contrast Mass Effect 1 was a very good PC port overall but had serious technical problems rooted in DRM and a lack of Q/A that make people think poorly of it.

OK, so let me get this straight.

Mass Effect 2 is one of the worst PC ports you've seen in a long time because it worked, and Mass Effect 1 is one of the best because it didn't?

I'm not sure you know what words mean.

Yeah, not too sure about the Halos. "A lot" of story does not equal a "good" story. I will say that Reach did tell its story very well but again, there's a difference between a good story and good storytelling. Tolkien had a good story, for instance. Not a great storyteller. The man used five adequate words any time two good words would suffice. If he had a good editor everyone would be writing duologies instead of trilogies today.

Besides Dragon Age 2, how else did Bioware 'fuck us in the ass'?

Some people feel that most everything they've done since Baldur's Gate II has been kind of one big "screw you" to CRPG gamers. Not everyone was happy with how much they simplified ME2, for instance.

I thought it worked for the most part. I just hope they don't emphasize shooting in the ME3 multiplayer because people don't come to Mass Effect for the shooting mechanics.

This post is full of such wonderful imagery. Do you mean "beeing" like apiology? Like, the production of gay honey? And the Gay Mafia? Are they all called Mr. Pink?

Normally I'm reluctant to jump on the, "this will kill SP!" bandwagon, but with the production schedule already so tight, it would have been impressive if they could have pulled off a quality single-player game in that amount of time.

I'm getting a little worried.
