It may not have the typical "character levels", but everything else in the game has a level requirement. You acquire XP through questing and killing to gain points to use for skill upgrades so you may equip better gear to survive against higher level mobs... How is this different than any other MMO?

Yes, Gothic 3. Seems a fair amount of people had, or have, an issue with the stuttering. i7-920 6GB and I believe I was using a GTX 285 at that time. Seems that hardware would have been sufficient, but using a GTX 570 now and I'm curious if that'd make any difference. Eh, so many other games to play--and I still have to get through Oblivion GOTY before I pick up Skyrim. heh

Anyway, thanks for the feedback. At least I know that it is capable of running without a problem.

Cut the cord, doesn't matter.. Comcast is slowing making their money back with ridiculous price increases. I'm paying $15 more than I was 2 years ago. $69 a month for Internet and basic cable.

Oh yeah, I should mention, the problem I was having with the bad memory would only crop up while playing Anarchy Online. Swapping to new memory resolved the issue. Seems reasonable for someone to blame the game if something like that were to happen. I'm not saying this is the case for anyone playing Skyrim, but it's just something to consider.

I was in last weekend's beta and leveled to 13. Glad they won't wipe characters so I can see a bit more before release.

I really hope they add mod support soon so someone can fix the terrible UI. I couldn't find any apparent way to move, resize, or adjust alpha transparency on any of the elements--not even the hotbars. Well, I could resize the chat window, but I couldn't move it from the upper left hand corner of the screen. Another thing that annoyed me was that all windows opened on the left side of the screen, unless something was already opened on the left. But after closing the left window, the right window would then move to the the left and disorient me. There were also some windows which would open on top of other windows and keep focus so you had to close them in order to see things underneath. There are only 4 hotbars and they all have predetermined positions--2 on the bottom of the screen (one above another) and one for each side of the screen. Oh, and I think the most obnoxious of all elements was the large menu bar on the top/center of the screen that you couldn't hide! The bar opened windows that you could either bind to a key or find in a menu so it was completely unnecessary. I never place anything at the top of the screen like that, so it was very distracting.

Even though I didn't like Rift, I think they have had the most customizable UI of any MMORPG I've seen without the use of mods.

I've tried overclocking a few times. Honestly, I never saw any discernible difference in real world performance.

I haven't even bothered to check out the DLC yet. Got it for free during their 2 week deal or whatever it was when it was first released, but they're now actually trying to charge $10 for it? The game itself is $20 and I think that may be overpriced, especially if no one is playing it.
