Not that I play either, but Among Us basically plays like Werewolf/Mafia (as far as I can tell) which according to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mafia_(party_game) has been around since 1987.

I thought I would respond since I was specifically quoted. I personally just meant to explain why they might show up in the credits for some games like SW:KotOR 2 (because of their porting work).

Yes, there is a huge difference between porting/translating something and developing/creating something. I sure hope they aren't claiming they developed or created any of the games that they ported. Unless they have some development work that I don't know of, which is certainly possible, I also wonder why they were chosen to develop a new game.

Aspyr has done a ton of porting work in the past, especially to the Mac, so they probably did some porting work on SWKotOR 2.

Yeah, there are a few people that feel that way. Most of the Steam reviews that mentioned that were much earlier on in our Early Access period though.

Here's the major things that have changed in Drox 2 compared to Drox 1:

Build a unique ship with a new skill/command system
Enjoy better graphics (normal maps, better specular maps, and higher resolution textures)
Deal with more treaty types (vassals, tributaries, protectorates, and federations)
Find more component types (plasma cannons, ramming components, probes, etc)
Experience faster movement and combat
Interact with randomly generated races (just the young races)
Discover way more interesting things while exploring
Protect or exploit primitive races
Find crew with skills
Place spies on planets for better info and spying activities
Access much more information on the 4X aspects
Play as the rebels of each of the races (42 total playable races, rebels, and subraces)
Win sectors with the new Guild Win
Play with better controller support

New things compared to Din’s Curse: better graphics (bump mapping, specular maps, shadow mapping), varied terrain height, outdoor areas, each world has a different scenario, mutation system instead of hybrids, way more specialties available, clans exist (not the focus though and you don’t run one), and more types of monsters, quests, special rooms, modifiers (level, world, item), traps, etc.

I'm not defending their price jump, but I can probably guess why the price increased and the timing.

They very well could lose their retail shelf space if the digital version is selling below the retail price (and it's not a temporary sale), hence the price jump.

As for the timing, Steam has a policy that you can't put your game on sale within 30 days of a price jump. I'm guessing they want to do a launch discount and their launch is just a little over a month away.

Our license agreement lets you install on as many computers in your household as you want and play at the same time on a LAN, so assuming your son still lives with you, you would only need to buy 1 copy.

If I have one significant complaint it's the dungeon layouts & dungeon graphics. It's overly simplified. I've been down to level 5 so far and it already seems like the same dungeon over and over.

The dungeon and town graphics will change when you move to another town.

Stanly Manly wrote on Mar 18, 2010, 23:03:
We must have played different demos then. Random environments don't really mean much, when you can't see more than 15 feet in any direction. While "dynamic", a quest for killing 6 skeletons isn't exactly impressive. You say "environmental interaction", like clicking on a torch in a dungeon is somehow unique, or interesting.

You aren't going to see much of the game in 15 minutes.

It being that dark means you probably found a really dark dungeon. They aren't all like that.

Those 6 skeletons, if part of an uprising, can raid the town, promote new bosses, and start wars among other things.

Some environment interactions you haven't see yet: cave-ins, gas leaks that will blow up, barrels of oil that will spread oil everywhere if they are broken, levers, and lots more.

Graphics aren't really a focus of ours. Most of our focus goes into making the gameplay as fun as possible and making something different than all of the Diablo clones out there.
