I got the Anaconda during beta (at the time is was less than $10 million, which was ridiculously easy to get once you have the space cow. I successfully flew it through the mail slot, but then I was pretty much done.

I'm kind of like that with games, the second I get the ultimate ship/item, I'm done without even really using it.

No business is gonna turn down free money. But, maybe, they should start making a game with it instead of planning expansions and dlc. And, no, arena commander is not a game.

Clipper is just as wide as the type-9. I'm very fucking cautious going through...I line up and then wait for the lesser ships to gtfo. Once I go through, shields up to 4 pips (150x str) and I will run you over.

I bought a type-9 during beta (at the time it costed around 3 million or so...hahah!) and, yeah that is wide as well as fairly tall. If you deploy your landing gear as you go through, the mail slot will gently push you into the center optimal, non-running into things position. True on all ships, but the anaconda and type-9 were what it was designed for.

The clipper is wide, but not especially tall, I've been able to "duck" under stupid drivers. (And, no, I wasn't slighting you SpectralMeat... )

True. I haven't flown a cobra in a while. There's a lot more inertia than I remember. I keep after burning and looping towards the mail slot only to find the turning radius isn't what I'm expecting.
Yeah if the speed gage is out of the blue zone the turning radius goes to shit.
This is even more pronounced in bigger ships. The Type6 is like steering a whale if you are not in the blue speed zone

The clipper turns on a dime, though! That ship is soooo fast.

Funny you guys talking about docking computers. I re-bought a cobra for rare trade runs. I haven't gotten the 'A' thrusters yet, and I almost splatted four times already trying to dock today.

I don't know if I am the only lucky pilot out there but I managed to buy a drunk docking computer I did not come across that problem again if I request docking in front of the station but it still slams my ship against the landing platform. Asshole!!

I didn't have that issue with the Cobra and Viper docking computers.
I may submit a bug report to Frontier.
If my space truck didn't have shield I'd be in trouble

Wow...that is just...wow.

I sold my Asp. I miss it so much already. I went to the founder's world and bought a type7 hauler for 15 million. Then I spent all day grinding an additional 7 million and traded that stupid ship to get the Clipper.
Don't you need significant Empire reputation to get that?

Yeah. You need Baron rank or, if you're allied with Empire, Squire will do.

You can have multiple faction ranks without them affecting each other. I'm unfriendly with Federation, but that's because of my combat sorties during the slave rebellion.

Boom. Vall is riding in style...albeit totally fucking broke. The clipper's default jump range is worse than a viper. Totally sweet ride...the engine sounds like whales underwater. And holy crap is it a big ship...I thought I was out of the mail slot, but heard a loud screeching sound. Whoops.

I think I'm gonna rebuy a viper or a cobra...for combat and not biting my fingernails constantly that someone is gonna scratch my paint and cost me $1,000,000 in repair charges.

Dammit -- in my travels around the web at one point I found a very nice google spreadsheet with outfitting listings by locations. Don't suppose anyone has stumbled onto that? I can't find it again and I seem to have failed to bookmark it. *sigh*

This?

Elite Rare Goods

Oh, misread. I haven't seen a list of outfitters around...

So, now that I can pretty much jump where ever the hell I want to, I have come across more and more humans. The weird thing? They are all nice. They send me text chats wishing me well and good hunting. It's odd...and kind of awesome at the same time.

Also, rare goods are tacked directly on you as a player. No one else can pilfer your supply.

I think I explained it poorly. Every ten minutes the rare good will resupply. However, it may be by 1 unit or 10 or whatever. That's why all the sites list the goods as 1-7 or so...1 being the min and 7 the max. If you are unlucky...the station will resupply 1 unit every ten minutes.

You gotta wait. The supply replenishes every 10 minutes. From 1-(12)ish. If the supply says 0, then you know it will replenish. If it is removed (as in no number) then you are at max capacity for that trade good.

if you are rare trading, you don't need much cargo space. That's why a cobra/hauler is awesome. The 11 loop one you may need more cargo space.

So I am doing that 11 stop trade run.
Is it normal that you can not select the next system on the list as a target point but you have to select something near by and then the final destination?

For example I am in CD-75 661 and my next stop is Lave but I can not plot a route to it, only to a system near by and ones I am on my way I will have to re route.

My Cobra has more than enough jumping distance and the distance between where I am and where I am going is less than 100Ly so I don't understand.
I am selecting the "fastest route"

I am running into the exact same problem. Like you, I am jumping nearby, then going the rest of the way through the route planner.

I never would be in that situation. I tend to fly without the credits to cover my insurance...that is scary enough as is. Without shields...fuck that.

That's why I put 4 pips into shields when I dock. 'Cause of you crazy bastards.

I think it's a bad move, but fuck it. I really want a clipper. I'm gonna trade my asp in. I think that the Asp is the best ship in the game...So I'll probably rebuy when I get more monies. But, the python is on the horizon...

I never liked beam lasers, personally. Too much power drain and constant lock on needed. I hear they are great at draining shields, but meh. I think they are more powerful, providing you can keep a sustained lock on. You'll need 4 pips in weapons to properly use them, as their power drain is ridiculous. Pulse lasers are great at needling someone down....and then there's the bath of my multicannon spray.

Something I've learned...sys pips. 1 gives 1% shield str, 2 gives 2.5%, 3 gives 30%, 4 gives 150%. If anyone was wondering about the numbers. Unless your shields need recharging, sys pips are worthless unless you go full on.

I like the pulse lasers. Pew pew.

Checked the wiki, each m-cannon stocks 2,100 rounds (8,400 for 4), I thought the 2100 was shared by both I use, wanted to make sure 4x m-cannon didn't share only 2100 rounds.

Ah, I see your question now. No, afaik, each gun holds its own ammo independently.
