2-3 ly at a time?!!! Wtf!

That's wrong.

I found that the pre 1.1 version would hang while trying to calculate a route. I would have to select the system several times before it would finally fix itself. But, yeah, even then it had to be less than 100ly.

I'm flying out to the founders world to attempt to get my t9. I'll test out the route planner.

I just saw a FSD for my Asp for 5mill
Wow this ship will be expensive to kit out, but I get something like 30Ly jump distance with that! Whoo hoo!
Looks like class 5 stuff is hard to find though. I can't even find any class 4 fuel scoops at the stations I visit on the trade run.

My class 6 "A" drive cost me $16 million. :\ That was a week of grinding.

Go to high population, hi-tech stations. They will fit you up. Population, turns out, is quite important.

Odd about the fuel scoops, they are everywhere. Especially on refinery/extraction stations.

Not sure where you are, but Shonzi (spelling?) has pretty much everything.

Also, if you're still doing that rare trade run, there's a station called Ivins Vision in Ww Piscis Austrini. Just type the station name and it'll point you to the proper system. It's high tech (federation). I had a viper parked there for a while. There was a nearby combat zone. I think it's out near Zeetssze or however the fuck you spell that weird area.

I almost have enough $$$ for the type9! I just need $10 million more for insurance and cargo costs. Grind, baby, grind!

Hopefully he will finish it and doesn't pull a Molyneux

This is a great quote.

Who even buys molyneux games anymore? If i see his name having anything to do with a game, nope nope nope.

True. I bought Fable and enjoyed the hell out of it despite all my friends making fun of me. Every game since has been..."wtf". Fable 2 and 3 got caught doing such weird background sims that the main "game" you basically had nothing to do...

I think I probably overdid it on the fuel scoop, got a 5b -- at full tilt it fills the tank ridiculously fast.

I did that too. I'm really impatient when it comes to fuel scooping. With that, you don't even need to slow down before you are full.

Thanks Vall but no worries dude I am not too bad in combat either and I can cover my own repair costs

Holy shit they did fix the travelling though.
I am doing the 11 stop rare trade run. Before the patch it literally took me 2 full night to get around. Now it takes no time at all.
To cover 91Ly it takes 7 jumps. Before the patch it was like 25 jumps.
Very happy to see that.
Oh and the "fastest route" ticker stays on now you don't have to click it every single time

I didn't mean anything by it. I was just excited and was offering free money to anyone that wants upgrades. At this point, it's probably easier just to trade than go to the black market...but ya know. Just throwing it out there. Happy to help.

I thought this was the python nerf patch? Holy hell, my python's thrusters are INSANE now. I was landing and cut throttle and blasted my thrusters to the side. I almost splatted against the wall! And I only have 'D' ones! Haven't fought yet, so I'm not sure about the overheating thing. Hmm. I'm gonna check that out now.

Edit:
They seem to have fixed the python damage model. Before, you'd take heat damage at 130% instead of the usual 150%. Now it seems in line...

Laaaame, they took away Imperial Slaves? They are not at my station anymore. Boo. Fuck, I knew I shouldn't have told Sir Meat about it.

Edit:
Miller Ring in the same system has slaves. Happy trading!

seriously, though... we should form a wing. Python surrounded by vipers and asps...we could be an awesome squad!
We should!

I can't directly transfer money, but I can drop palladium and escort you to a black market station. To recover repairs and such...or even upgrades.

I am all for doing something new besides trading. I'm pretty good at combat, too.

Hmm. I disagree, but I understand. Getting interdicted and escaping a pvp interdiction is probably the most exciting thing in the game right now.

I certainly agree, played many years of UO when it was only open PvP and had some really good times and some tough battles. Playing against other humans vs AI is much more thrilling. However, games like UO/GW etc have strong MP/COOP tools and interfaces. Global chats, party chats, private chats, grouping/party tools, and other interfaces bring people together.

E:D has some very serious problems with making their galaxy feel holistic and integrated as of today. I'm not complaining as I have seen their proposed roadmap and know content patches are coming to address these gaps. When these items come about I'll probably play Open more often then not. Plus, I'm almost at the point where I'm done with making money as I have a nice Viper and an Asp and don't think I want to get anything much bigger.

Yeah, I totally get your point about there really being no reason to do 'open' for trading atm. I guess I just do it because I am a sick bastard. Though, now, I have a big ship, so no one messes with me. I should go try and fuck with those Anarchy douchebags...

It is a conundrum for developers. Blizzard is the only company that can keep something internal for years polishing (or throw away completely) and still remain solvent. Frontier has already started on their next roller coaster game.

I dunno, I understand why people will be pissed off, but ED is fun and will get even better. This is a niche game...so the people wanting stories just didn't do their research. I like that they are trying to appease people but, really, they should just continue adding ships and fixing shit.

Frankly, I'm so happy to finally have a space sim game to play that's of this year. I hate modding 15 year old space games to work on my OS. You get the point.

One question though...Freespace 2 had this awesome feature when configuring your joystick. You can actually 'search' for a specific function. Instead of spending 5 minutes scrolling down the list of controls. For fuck's sake, why is this not used in this day and age?

Edit:
This applies to Star Citizen as well.

Hmm...the forums are alight with complaints. The biggest one being that "scraping" damage is borked, and causes your ship to get blown up or suffer massive shield/hull damage. I think a python's repair bill is about $20k per 1% hull damage. Some asshole npc sidewinder scraping me could take me down to 15% hull. Eff that....

I might wait for a hotfix. I'm not too keen to waste several evenings worth of trading money spent on stupid damage bug issues.

Oh cool! I didn't realize 1.1 comes out today.

Edit:

Holy crap that's a lot of notes!

- Rebalanced shield strengths at different pip levels to make those levels useful

- Tweak Python collision to make cargo scooping a bit easier

On another note, is anyone trading? Curious how everyone is faring.

I found a route that is pretty good. It doesn't seem to have any supply/demand degradation, but I'm pretty far out of the way. Interested because I hear the inner systems are bonkers at the moment.
Oh you can't just hint that without any details bud, come on share the wealth
I am doing the 11 stop rare trade run in my Asp and stop here and there to shoot some bad guys in the face.
I am pretty low on cash atm though

Haha! I've been running between Igal (Hirayama station) buying platinum or gold and the going to Yab Camalo (Von Zach Hub) and buying Imperial Slaves. They are about 19 ly apart and both stations are close to the star (within 500 ly). In an asp or t6, you can probably do it in one jump instead of the two it takes me.

As of last night I was getting $1500 per ton for the platinum/gold and just over $1000 for the slaves. The slaves have been a bit weird...they vary the most in price and supply. The platinum supply has remained sky high though, as well as the demand.
