Isn't this game built around the idea of coop but at the same time sucks at that immensely? I tried this game with a friend. One of us picked up fundamental items like the BACKPACK, leaving the other stranded without one. Same for gaining skills through quest completion -- only the person completing it gained said skill. Utterly ridiculous. We quit within hours.

Damn. Good luck to him though. He took almost everything Wilson got wrong, and made it right. Took everything Wilson got right (combat), and made it better.

Maybe "looming disaster" means something a lot different to you?

When Chris left Obsidian, here and elsewhere there was a bit of a cry as to "Don't Go!". Finishing up Pillars, his name is way way down the credits and isn't even credited as lead writer in the game. How some were stating his leaving as some type of huge writing loss, I found this odd.

I'm sorry, but I've watched the trailer and the game makes me sick.
I know that if I don't like it I don't need to play it but putting stuff like that out there is like poisoning minds.

From what little Ive seen of the game, the difficulty is mainly in figuring out how to get past certain set pieces. I have strong and mostly negative feelings about games that force you to trial and error your way through everything. A 'difficulty' level isnt going to fix design faults.
