Preordered. Can't wait for single player and coop mode. I only play MP on the side every now and then. IW has a proven track record for quality games just like valve. CoD1, 2, and 4 were all excellent. Don't mind the dedicated server issue. When L4D came out stripping out the server browser, there was "apparently" a huge public outcry, but look now, the system works and works well.

I love IW's CoD single player experiences, and yeah I'm sure if you forcefully make a game coop, it does ruin the experience, as you're more often than not distracted by your coop partner or jsut that someone isn't doing what they're supposed to be doing. I love IW for basically this: no compromise on building the best quality for the product, even if it means dropping out a big selling point.

If MW2's single player is as good as MW1, I'm sold even if its $60. AAA titles have been $60 for a long while, so this certainly is no surprise to me. Heck L4D was $50. No I dont like paying more for my games, but IW has not let me down yet, and the single player portion of MW2 already looks awesome. Just tell me where to preorder.

Oh right, warhead. I dont remember if its 3 or 5, but I did hit the cap in a short period. To EA: people do tend to format their PCs every now and then. *shakes fist*

*sigh* I hate EA. I ran out of activations (3) for my copy of Crysis Wars (this was before they came out with the revocation tool), and I couldn't even find a support number to call for more.

Just the fact that they're telling people to withhold reviews tells me that this game isn't going to be good. Yes the trailers LOOK good, but I didn't see much substance and gameplay behind it all.

Character models and the world looks alot like Vanadiel. I agree with most people here. FFXI was great and had so much substance and depth. The grind was a killer though, but it becomes so very rewarding once you get used to it and get to the higher levels. I was a WHM/BLM, so you can believe the grind hit me the hardest...

I honestly don't mind if its mostly the same game as CoD4. I loved the story and gameplay. Sniper mission had me sweating bullets on a cold winter day. Just thinking of the AC130 mission brought a smile to my face just now.

That said, I guess the real question is, if MW2 is very much similar to CoD4 (suppose they gave you a satellite beam to shoot from space rather than the AC130), even with IW's polish and tight gameplay, would ppl here still enjoy the game or bitch?

Since the internet is all about bitching these day, I wager the latter.

Crysis is a good game, and MP is alot of fun. Too bad the limited activations killed it for me. After installing win7, I ran out of my 3 activations, and I'm too lazy to call up EA to give me more. So its another game that I guess I won't be playing. Too bad for them.

In other words, the smoker isn't OPed like you wanted him to be?

The fixes are fanstastic, but I've only got to try the smoker once last night. Damage per sec on the pull DOES work as advertised. But with all the changes, he's still pretty hard to play and easy to counter. So good job on valve's part.

Initially I really hated steam. I've not purchased anything from Valve because of it until orange box. Yes I've held out for that long not playing HL2. Even after the orange box, I didn't like having steam running in order to play any other games. But L4D came along, and its the first time I bought the game and preloaded it off steam and it all worked like a charm (well except for a minor hiccup with the preload). Since them, even though I still dislike steam, I've grown accustomed to it. It just simply works. Btw, why does steam feel so slow all the time? I dont get it, its a small tiny app that should ideally launch quick and fast, but it just feels so sluggish.

Same here. Level 66 with my WHM, 60 WAR and artifact gear for both. It was alot of fun playing that, and it had more depth than any MMO I've played. Remember the elements counted alot into everything, light vs dark, fire, water, wind, etc. It even factored into crafting and such. The world was very well crafted. I miss it now. Its not the gold farmers who killed it, well not entirely. It was more the botters.

Good to see this mmo is still alive and well. This was the real MMO that I really played and loved. WoW is great, but lacks alot of the depth (at least in PVE) that this game has.

Slightly off topic, but I don't get how some are saying the orange box was a good value. When it first came out, weren't the forums filled with angry valve customer who cried foul because they had already bought and played HL2 and EP1? "Valve is just forcing us to "rebuy" those games so they can charge $50 for the whole package, but I just want TF2." There's some truth to that too, because only a couple months later, valve release TF2 seperately for $20.

I only wanted EP2, but I'm glad I got the orange box. TF2 was really fun, and portal was superbly excellent. Valve would have made more money from me had they charged for each product individually.

About L4D, I think it might be overpriced, for now. But who knows how large the campaigns are? And how many new campaigns valve will release in the future. Not to mention mods and addons and feature adds a la TF2. Besides, I don't mind over paying when it comes to supporting good devs, even if that means the dev getting to buy his 2nd ferrari.

Why does this all sound like yet another case of the internet making a big deal out of nothing. The demo just came out today. Likely not all the servers are up. Give it some time. Once more servers come up, the match making process will do a better job finding low ping games for you. Sheesh.
