... nvidia system tools (I didn't know those existed until yesterday) where you can set up your own rules for fan speed performance etc and the temp of my card has lowered quite a bit during heavy load and it's almost silent during no load

And people bitch that loosing EXP when you die (and in tern can delevel if you loose to much) in FFXI is to harsh.
Rigs wrote on Feb 3, 2010, 18:30:Exactly right. Players these days are much more demanding and much less forgiving.
*sigh* The only difference between the release of Everquest and the release of STO is the capacity of patience has dropped to almost zero...

Good stuff all around. The fixes for the texture hacks, particularly. More and more, it was becoming obvious when people had those running on a map.
Verno wrote on Jan 15, 2010, 09:29:Hey Verno, I totally agree with you. It was definitely heavy on the grinding. But I guess I prefer it that way over the newer MMO's which see way too easy to attain level/loot and solo everything. Things have more value when you have to work to get it. I recall in FF, I was level 60 and I still couldn't solo a level 30 goblin.
FFXI was way too grindy, it had a lot of pretty positive elements going but the sheer amount of palette swaps and rehashed Everquest-style grinds were a huge drag. You couldn't just play FFXI for for a few hours, you had to sit down and play for 5+. I hear they eventually shaped it up a bit but too little too late for me.
I just created a new petition that demands the features that I want in the game! How dare they release a game without the features that I want?
