one thing good about Blizzard is that they don't turn their products into cash cows
Errr, I would have to politely disagree with that. Blizzard is as greedy as any other company. The only reason Blizzard is not milking those franchises to death is because they are making money from another cash cow, WoW. That gives them time and resources to keep content and updates flowing into WoW while they brainstorm on what new gimmick ideas to put into a Starcraft/Diablo sequel. I honestly hope that they don't make sequels to either of these two classics, because they will more than likely ruin it.

People just refuse to be satisfied. When there's no demo (Q4), everyone cries fouls and goes on and on about how the game is crap without a demo (even though they have never played it). Then when there is a demo (Sam2), the same group of ppl cry that its too short, missing all sorts of features, levels, weapons etc. Then someone releases a full(er) featured demo, and again they complain that it takes to long to download.

Sheesh, I agree that complacency is not a virtue, but neither is incessant nagging.

I hope the NFS Most Wanted texturing issues and HDTV underscan options have been fixed. This is great!

Since firefox is mentioned, can someone tell me what the plugin is that can block those annoying intelli text crap thats on almost all tech sites now?

It's 4 million people "played" according to them.

#1. I don't believe they've had those sorts of numbers in the first place.

#2. Even if they had, they're certainly not counting the people - like me - who did and saw everything inside of 3 months on both sides, then got bored and quit. Their bleed factor is substantially higher than they admit.

WoW is a great game, but they didn't launch with near enough content. Their entire endgame is focused on nothing but uber-guilds and raiding. Thanks, but no thanks.

Absolutely positively agree with that. Amen brother. WoW has no depth.

These drivers have been out since last week. They were not whql certified though. They do make a very slight difference; in Q4 I noticed 2-3 fps increase.

Been a fan of the series since the original first. Think I've only missed motor city since it was not released for the PC. But for Most Wanted, as long as they keep the original formula for underground 1 and 2 (which I've also enjoyed), I'd probably pick this up and won't complain.

Even if this was a somewhat decent game, will it even have any chance of survival against the might of FEAR, Sam2, Q4, and CoD2?

This is a fantastically good book for anyone who's even remotely interested in murder mysteries. Not sure how the game will be.

Why PBEM when now you can play simutaneous turns? I always shudder at the idea of playing over email. I mean how long will a single game on a small map last? Maybe its just me never giving it a try, but I don't think I can just take one turn, send the email and wait an hour for someone else to make a move. I'll go crazy. Anyway, does anyone have the game yet? Bring on the user mini reviews.

Agree with #1 and #2. Great game looking forward to it. But the demo was very jerky and sluggish on my PC, and even though its only a mid range system, it runs Q4 and Fear just fine.

I really hope I can play this game on my 1Ghz laptop with a crappo GMA900 Intel integrated chipset. It has two pixel pipelines and I think its equivalent to a Geforce 2, but it lacks any vertex or pixel shaders. Hopefully civ4 doesn't employ those whatever they are.

Wheph finally read through all 145 posts... Seems like its a mixed bag, ratings are all over the place. Well as long as its D3 + Q2 + CoD, I guess I'm sold. *puts on his id t-shirt and hat, runs to the store where they know him by name*

Atleast if I downloaded the game I could burn it to a single dvd WITH the first patch. You see..what happens many months or a year down the road, and the game isn't installed anymore?

None of the bugs listed in the patch are show stoppers, and I'd guess that 90% of users will never even see the "fall through the map" bug. If there are any critical bugs, the game would never have passed QA. You can play through the entire single player and experience all that the game has to offer without ever patching it. That being said, if there are patches, its not really that far fetched to expect internet connections from users who need the patch.

I think its a good think. Speilberg recognizes that entertainment can be more immersive and more interactive. I wouldn't be surprised if Speilberg approached EA. In any case whats wrong with a speilberg produced WW2 game? Saving Private Ryan was a superb movie, imho.
