News Comments > Deus Ex: Human Revolution Trailer

After years of continuous multi-platform influences, these videos reaffirm my usual stance nowadays to simply delay purchase a month or 2 for mods to make some proper PC adjustments.

If they can't make a cake right, just wait for the frosting.

Plus it's always cheaper by then too.

Where's the dismemberment, scorch marks and blood? That's what happened to bum face when Obi Wan hacked his arm off. And weren't the lightsabers originally more saberish looking, kind of a flat with just a hint of a curve to the blade instead of the light tubes we see now?

That's my main beef with all LA games, they are all uber tame, pre-teen oriented. Bring on the harsh realities of combat and futuristic fighting carnage.

Nope, we get.... sparks. Whoopie!!!!

Not very funny but don't care. Least they are polite enough to communicate with the fans instead of the EBGames listing changing magically 2 days before release.

Sketchy yet fun looking gameplay aside, will not buy till I hear PC version contains proper PC adjustments for the platform.

News Comments > Crytek on Crysis 2 Cheating
22. Re: Crytek on Crysis 2 Cheating Mar 10, 2011, 12:57 Bumpy

What are the calling cheating exactly? Using startup cvars to change the FOV? Turning off blur? Disabling intro movies?

If they lock down these things with their anti-cheat system, it will be more hate their way.

If you're prone to get motion sick stay away from this one. The blur and motion effects are extrem and can't be switched off. Had to stop playing after a couple of hours.

FOV is more an issue to me than any graphic effect.

This game any good?

From what I hear on the forums, yes, it's good. Just waiting for USA retail and playing Risen in the mean time.

No, it doesn't. See http://www.udk.com/features-destructible.html

SirKnight wrote on Mar 9, 2011, 19:23:
Actually UE3 does have destructible environments by utilizing NVIDIA's APEX.
But, this capability isn't new. The UDK has had its fracture tool for destructible objects and environment since its initial release in 2009.

See this for an example.

That's pretty good, bit goofy shaped pieced but least the engine can do destruction but.....

One big problem, no one uses this feature so it's kinda moot.

I don't see this engine looking any better than Crysis or Frostbite.

Plus the Unreal engine lacks destructible environment, open world ability and best in the business nature scenes(god I love Crysis tropics).

Frankly, after all the crap Unreal engine issues we on PC have had to fix every game, I wish this engine would die and fade away.

So you can now get the retail version but only at Gamestop and only the collectors edition at what $90? $100? Pass.

I could give a rats about that, just tell me when the normal retail version will be at my local Walmart or Best Buy please.

So does this mean we can expect nice thick paper game manuals again? That's what I thought.

This impressed me much more than the dark city UE3 footage. Long as we can tweak with console or command line, bring on CE3!

8. Re: GTA5 Details? Mar 7, 2011, 22:21 Bumpy

So new story/characters that's suppose to impress? Rockstar needs to get with the times.

Where's the interactive, destructible environment ala Frostbite or Geo-Mod? That is the future of gaming, or a huge part anyway.

How about a guarantee PC simultaneous release? Or do they want some Epic type love their way..

And to go with that, how about a properly PC coded and optimized at release?

I predict none of this will happen except for the Epic hate maybe.

Yesterday I was cleaning out my desk and came across a $46 receipt, dated 12/27/93 for Doom on 3 1/2 inch floppies. The address listed on the receipt was for PO Box in Mesquite. "Memories...light the corners of my mind..."

Ahh, the good old days. And that receipt you could actually read, compared to the lame thermo-paper we have now that fades to nothing in a few years.

Pretty much. I'm not sure exactly what they were expecting...

Was expecting something improved. Not a more console fighter Devil May Cry repeat in an Alice world.

Should of known, more often than not, every game is getting worse or lesser nowadays, not better.

Another bargain bin buy if I happen to be bored.
