We needs 6Ghz CPUs, not more powerful GPUs.

Except 90% of games only see a 1-3 FPS difference between midrange and high-end CPUs. Skyrim is the only game in recent memory that's been heavily CPU-dependent.

You are doing something wrong if you see such a low gains. By far, the console or poor ports we get are cpu limited much more so than gpu.

There are no games out now that need a card stronger than a 560 Ti or 6950 card.

Pretty much. Unless you run uber widescreen res or 3D.

We needs 6Ghz CPUs, not more powerful GPUs.

Now all we need is a 6GHz cpu to properly push this new video card at today's PC settings.

Packing the most info possible on 1 screen is key IMO. Less screens and pages the better.

Soon all electronics will be like cars with VIN numbers registered to 1 user.

Actually phones SHOULD have this so it becomes useless if lost or stolen.

Just another console port coming to PC. I'll buy it for $5 if its a fantastic port. I assume it will have proper FOV, quicksave, and latest DirectX, right?

the last I heard was a brief tweet saying preliminary tests showed no improvement as the source textures were apparently no better quality.

@ID_AA_Carmack Any news on the Rage texture patch update? It's been awfully quiet lately

@Mathemoto we are still waiting for AMD to stabilize their release drivers so we can test our patch against them.

Well that certainly clears this whole thing up. NOT.

Guess we wanted a statement and got one....even if it resolves nothing.

HL3 will only come out when the new next gen consoles come out. This 3 game will most likely be for more L4D or Portal milk money.

With the new mouse look feature, SS1 plays and controls awesome. I've attempted to finish SS1 several times now but appears I'm dumbed down. There are no obvious objectives and I have no clue what I'm suppose to do next. The Logs and recordings are very vague.

I keep wandering around hoping I come across what I'm to do next. Plus the Cyberspace I'm currently at I can't figure out, I see where I need to get to but there is no possible path to get there. Arg.

The level complexity and different areas are incredible. I feel all the Call of Duty levels combined could fit into 1 SS1 level.

Apparently I am going to have to try out Metro 2033 one of these days. I've held off on it since I wasn't sure my OC'd E6400 and GTS250 could handle running that game.

Try the demo. I found 2033 way too different from Stalker. Linear and not open world.

At least they died before ruining the franchise with simplified console games.

QFT. As much as I REALLY wanted another STALKER, my gut told me the next one would of been a complete console abortion mess.

Bought and LOVED all the STALKERS.

RIP, the extremely unique atmosphere and raw design will truly be missed.

Wonder how long it will take the crackers to remove.

From the media this looks exactly like FSX. Maybe it'll be coded well this time so the average gamer can run the game.
