A "smartphone" being used by a raving idiot. The irony. Sorry, politics aside, I could never stand Trump.

At least it wasn't a "gift" from his good friend Vladimir.

Live with it whining Clown

It's not a defence but it's a demonstration of people's epic double standards, especially since many of the things I listed above are things where people pay for the privilege of being spied on in a much more intrusive way, unlike the current majority of Windows 10 installs.

Dude in some countries people are forced to have a bank account , they are working towards a money free state( world) many places elder are forced to learn and use pc so everything can be digi , and why ?...yep suck them dry..so don't give me that crap about peoples double standards...

The only way to secure a computer against prying eyes is to turn it off.

You can mitigate what Microsoft collects. Don't use cortana, windows apps, microsoft accounts, cloud services, edge browser etc.

Sure..sure so they can sneak attack it again , and you have to check you pc everyday for those sneak attacks from those Data suckers....noway

If you're concerned about anonymous, high-level telemetry data, I hope you don't use a smartphone, cellular provider, social network, free e-mail service, loyalty card, credit card, any kind of ad-supported web site or modern AAA video game ever. Because any one of those is tracking more data in a more identifiable way than Windows 10 is.

Source: I work in IT and have studied this extensively as I get asked about it by clients regularly.

Yea right now back to microsoft with you , winspy 1o is one BIG Data sucker,,there was a reason it was free (come to daddy , come to daddy) , when peps fall for it , they start manipulating there pc and the way the sneak attack by turning things on again even tho people don't want it on is beyound.....
I don't give a rat what and how many years " pro" IT have worked with this and with that , Winspy 10 is a trojan horse.....maybe even a torrent kind of system : Lets connect everybody to one system and share speed and connection...... Clown 's

Looking forward to Redstone 2, read an article detailing all the new stuff coming down the pipe, it's definitely a dense update. Quick virtualization, native HDR support, and the game mode thing stand out.

Although apparently they're taking away the "control panel" from the "right click start button" uber menu, which sucks... not sure why.

Oh also, screen resolution is now right in display properties, not buried under advanced menu, which is gud.

I don't understand the obsession to control updates anymore. The odd update that breaks something is pretty rare and often edge case scenarios. You see this all of the time in the software world and companies just ship a patch. Bugs and unforeseen issues are just the nature of the beast.

I don't have time to sit there looking at each update, evaluating if its worthy of installation or not. Windows XP had hundreds of updates, I didn't check them all and I would find it dubious if anyone else said they did. Hell I don't have the code to make that decision truly informed anyway, all I can do is read a text blurb and click on a button or not. Microsoft could put whatever they want in that update and I have no way of verifying it. I highly doubt people are sitting there doing an analysis of each update. More likely they are just sitting on them for some arbitrary period of time and clicking install later. I guess that's "choice"? Whatever makes people happy. The only thing I don't want pushed to me is drivers, the rest of it I don't care. Where Microsoft really screwed up was pushing drivers on people and the whole rebooting you in the middle of a game thing. The newest insider build lets you disable driver updtaes and the latter was already fixed.

If people are really that worried though you can get updates to notify and let you choose when to install them with the Pro version of Windows 10.

I don't care

And microspy 10 loooves ya for that....clown

People comparing this bs from MS to nvidia or amd drivers need to realize that when it comes to lets say nvidia or amd drivers or software *YOU* have full power whether you install new and when. With windows 10 and its updates MS does not listen to customers and instead force the updates on you. THERE IS THE DIFFERENCE, dont compare this to regular patch issues with other software where you have the option and power of whether you install or wait to see if breaks anything for other users.

You can disable the Windows Update service if you mistrust Microsoft so much. But then why are you using their products at all?

Don't trust Microsoft enough to update Windows 10 but do trust them to update Windows XP or Windows 7? Makes no sense, total hypocrisy. They use a new update process and fired most of their old support people who vetted this stuff. We get faster updates now but sometimes they have problems. That's really the tradeoff people should be talking about.

If so many people here hate Microsoft and Windows there are other options, go ahead and use them. Or buy a console if the odd update causing an issue is such a big deal. This shit is a joke, one crappy Windows Update?! Hah I used to have to get my games sound config running by hand and deal with physical DRM. We've got it easy.

Well winspy 10 sure got you where they want...disable screen , disable keyboard .....and so on but we got faster update , but sometimes they have problems ..what a DB ye are this POS not only can it WILL enable what ye turn off if it dont fit in there way..and you say NP ....well Clown
