Better not be console focused, even though it already seems like it is.

But no worries, I'll just wait for D3.

Are some of you really arguing that this game is losing players? I know for a fact it is. All of my friends and I have stopped playing, and while that is a really small number relative to the total sales, I have a feeling a large number of other players have felt the same way and have left the game. It just got old. This is an embarrassment that they hype this up as a "map pack" when it could have easily been done by one modder had they opened up the code.

This was one of the first reasons I quit the game after a week or two. Aside from the destructable environments, this is a pretty mediocre game. Terrible gun and class balance. Terible vehicle balance. Map packs coming out months after release that should have been included from the start. Back to MW2 for me!

I wont resubscribe to this piss poor game till they make raiding gear hard to get and not buyable with badges, EVER AGAIN. BC was the last great era for Raiding gear. With Wrath and their stupid badge system I thought it was retarded that someone who put in a few hours grinding dungeons could get a set of armor almost equivelent to the one I worked my ass off for killing "hard" (and I put that in quotations because none of the bosses in Wrath were "hard") bosses.

Sorry I come from the Everquest era. I rolled deep in that game too. I liked that only the most dedicated had the best gear. I liked WoW because it was like that in Vanilla, and in BC. Then they took a dump on the system to keep customers from leaving. Their greed has watered down the game to a point where the hardcore player laughs at it.

Good, and the game is better for it. Let me guess, you're in your early 20's(at very MAX), and you have almost limitless disposable time on your hands.

That's why you loved the days of 12 hour raids in MC/BWL/Original Naxx. You felt so good that you happened to belong to a guild that only the people like you, who could put that kind of time into the game, would allow in.

I challenge you to find me 10 people who:

- Are married with children
- Have a Long term career to support
- Put the lives of their children and spouse at the utmost priority(second only to their career, be realistic, no money = no family)

Find me those 10 people who have the ability to raid 4 days a week, 6 hours a day, AND don't have their marriage and families compromised. Go, do it.

But that is the problem, raiding was intitally targeted towards the hardcore. The people that really dedicated themselves to the game got really far ahead of others gear and skill wise. Now they hand out gear like candy. Plenty of people in my guild had a family and good job.

They let people who casually played have their fun in the BG system and lower gear required instances, like Stratholme and Scholomance. Actually, looking back only the hardcore PVPers excelled in that too, and I liked it.

No, because Steam is not the be-all-and-end-all of PC gaming. Bioshock 2 uses Games for Windows Live for its multiplayer not Steam so check the GFWL popularity list to see if people play it online.

Alright cool, thanks for the heades up. I assumed(incorrectly) that anything sold via Steam would show up in its most played. Nice to know that it doesn't register GFWL stuff.

EDIT: Checked GFWL, couldn't find any list or stats. I'll look harder, but if anyone has it bookmarked or something please hook me up.

Hardly. Console wise at least. I was really hoping this would be some single player content. I don't see why they keep force feeding us multiplayer content when there are so many better multiplayer games out there.

Afghan
Derail
Estate
Favela
Highrise
Invasion
Quarry
Rundown
Rust
Scrapyard
Skidrow
Sub Base
Substation
Terminal
Underpass
Uprise
Wasteland

That is the original maplist. That would be 17 maps, 16 if you don't include Rust which isn't really played other than on splitscreens. Assuming you only bought MW2 for the multiplayer, which most people I know did(consoles), that comes down to $3.75 a map. These map packs are only $3 a map. Only thing I don't like about these packs are that they remodel old maps exactly how they were but sell them for the same price as the new ones, unless you count the new maps at $3.75 a piece. Then the other 2 come down to $3.75 total, which is justifiable. The pricing really isn't that outrageous, but I do agree it should be lowered to about $10.

What they should really allow, however, is custom maps created by users. The loss of this in recent games has been really detrimental.

That sounds like a variant on a fairly common scam. You probably are not infected, but you are wise to check.

You say you were reading this site when it happened... do you think it originated here? Had you clicked on a link or an ad? We've had no such issues with our current ad provider, but if it's possible we're serving a malware ad, I'd like to track it down.

I haven't had it happen since then, which could be good or bad. But yeah, I had already viewed the three image links from Out of the Blue. All three of the websites are pretty popular and I doubt that it would have come from any of the links here, assuming it actually is malware. Hadn't clicked on any ads either. I'll let you know if it happens again. Just seemed odd to me since I am a very careful surfer, I never click on anything suspicious and definately don't go for ads. Oh well, I'll see if I find anything. Full virus scan said everything was clean though, so who knows. Thanks!

Hey everyone, I need some help. I was surfing Blue's News today and I was automatically redirected to apparently another website. It had a popup saying my computer had signs of being infected. I tried closing my browser via the taskbar but it wouldn't let me, so I X'd out of the pop up and the website started a simulated scan, from what I could tell. I immediately got out of it, because it was way too suspicious. My question is, has any had an experience like this before? Normal I would say it was just another old virus attempt, but since it happened while I was browsing Blue's I couldn't tell. I'm running a virus scan as we speak, just in case.

To say America's youth and future are fucked would be saying that 911 was uneventful.

Maybe I am wrong, but I think you messed that up. Your analogy is implying that saying America's youth is not going to be screwed over, when the rest of your post implies otherwise.

What I don't understand about this whole deal is the fuss about videogames. What would you rather have them do? Go take a jog? Play an instrument? Let them do what they like, in moderation.

Don't blame the students, blame the school system. To me it seems like the pace they set from k-11 is way too slow. I only had 1 actually challenging class up until my junior year. If pushing kids harder starts making their grades drop, maybe they should scale the grades. But making classes a joke so everyone can do well is hurting our kids more than videogames.

"The so- called "black operations" undertaken by DOD organizations, the Department of State, and the CIA in Indochina are still not openly discussed by veterans.[3] Moreover, military history monographs and a number of other books have been published on Navy Riverine Forces in Southeast Asia, but preliminary research show the true story of these shallow draft boats is still buried in U.S. Navy Files."

Looks like it may be Vietnam, afterall.

Black Ops has no reference to Vietnam, which is the period I thought this game would take place in. If it's just a copy of MW2, I'll pass. MW2 is still fun.

Another reason to not invest in a console. They can and will eventually shut you down.

Did you even read the article? They are shutting down the original Xbox version only. They are keeping the 360 versions online. That's no different than saying that new engines on PC will "shut you down." Can't afford a new computer/graphics card after 7 years? Yeah, you probably won't be playing online with too many other people, except on maybe something like CSS or Starcraft. BF2:MC isn't as popular as CSS or Starcraft, hecnce it getting shut down.

Screw COD anyway, its an awful linear terrible shooter.

In my opinion catering to the console crowd dumbs your game down and will eventually kill any series.

edit: consoles are swag, smoke the good stuff and give up the high school candy-ass gaming

BFBC2 was almost an exact copy of MW2, with the exception that it added environment destructabiliy. I'm fine with you bashing the game, but don't use false facts.

You would have to be a fool to believe that they would include single player in a free weekend when it only lasts 7ish hours.

But anyway, I love this game on the 360. Granted, it isn't the same experience as the PC gamers have had, so I could see why I seem to be enjoying it more.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 is blown out of proportion. It isn't really that good. I think a lot of people are just jumping on the bandwagon so they can stop talking about/playing COD. The destructible environment is the only thing going for it, but even that is not enough to outweigh the weapon balance, camping, and teamkilling issues.

TLDR: I want BF3 now.

I wouldn't nerf the helicopters much, they are fine as is. I have no problems killing the Hind or Apache with a Gustav or the AA.

Yup, 2 bursts of AA or a well placed dart and the thing is toast.

PC Version? On the 360 it takes about 6 or 7 solid AA bursts(all hits) to make it smoke black and leave. The only way I have seen a helicopter get destroyed is by a lucky tank shell, a suprise UAV ram, and an opposing helicopter.
