Ditto.
Starting to seem like it'd be a hassle if I didn't buy this game on Steam.
So many patches.
Glad to see some companies still support their work.

It doesn't matter where you buy this game from, it requires steam.

In a perfect world, it would be nice if OnLive enjoys limited success for a few years (enough to stay afloat) until the technology and bandwidth can improve the experience enough to make twitch games suitably playable, and then Valve steps in, takes over OnLive, brings the entire Steam catalog over, and existing users are given access to all of their past purchases via cloud gaming.

In a perfect world.

Mirror's Edge was, without a doubt, the most memorable game I've played in years. Some parts of it was frustrating, but the game was so fresh and unique that I easily overlooked the parts I did not like.

Agreed on the game needing mods. Oblivion got too repetitive (closing gate after gate), the designers decision to level the majority of all creatures and NPCs with the players was terrible, and all the caves were generically identical.

Hopefully we'll see another single player elder scrolls experience before an MMOG variant. :/

It's good to hear that Firaxis is still working hard to improve the game, but unfortunately the underlying game mechanics are either too simplified or tied together for my tastes. The trade off system of civics (in civ4) vs. the perk system of policies, base research tied directly to population count, universal happiness instead of happiness per city, and even the removal of stacks creates frustrating (unfun) circumstances.

Civ V is fun (I've played 75 hours according to steam), it could be more fun with patches/expansions, but I currently don't think it will ever be as deep or fun as civ4:BTS.

The developers talk about their sales and piracy one month after release: http://frictionalgames.blogspot.com/2010/10/one-month-after-amnesias-release.html

I'm both happy and sad for them.

I know the console processors are good, so processor requirements make sense, but why do we keep seeing GPU recommended specs rise while the games look no better and are still based off the ancient GPU in the PS3 and Xbox?

Probably from lazy coding/optimization.

Developers need to just skip dx10. If they are going to offer multiple DX formats, just do DX9 and DX11.

Game looks great, would love to try it on my laptop prior to buying, don't see myself playing it much if I have to use my desktop to get it to look good.

I don't see any sales on this... $49.99 for purchasing it a week before it comes out? Feels kind of insulting to not offer any incentives to buy this game.... Was hoping amazon would have $10 off or something, was ready to spend money and now I'm feeling like they're being greedy not offering better incentives.

I'll wait for the price to come down or a demo. Or Onlive? Put it up on Onlive! I'll pay for 3 day access to play it and see how I like it there!

$10 off at Direct2Drive right now, get the first premium DLC free and get Civ 3 free.

Is that not a good enough sale for you?

So anyone with the DLC - is it completely separate? When you fire up the game is Jimmy's Vendetta is a different option from the main menu or are the missions accessed from within the normal single player campaign?

Hopefully it'll just be stupid worthless stuff like time trials, leaderboards, etc. I don't want this game built around co-op.

Regenerating health is the future baby. Embrace it.

If the next half life game moves to regenerating health, it may be the last fps shooter I ever play.
