Something is off with those benchmarks - those are horribly low results for the highest powered GPU on the market at 1680x1050. Perhaps amd's drivers are no good. Either way, I get those results, if not better, on my gtx 260 core 216.

Since the demo is, in essence, the full game that can be unlocked with a key, then the patch, which is a complete reinstallation, should affect the demo too.

I agree with all your assessment. Auto regen health and the lack of quick saves were a big negative in my book. But, the game was still really fun, it's doing something no other FPS has done, AND when considering that it was made by a company with 8 employees, I'm impressed.

They actually all live in Iowa and graduated from Iowa State a few years ago. Did you actually purchase and play the entire game? When using the word repetitive, I think of Far Cry 2 or Bioshock. I didn't find anything "repetitive" in Darkest of Days.

Highly underrated game. It's a little rough around the edges but it does a good job of being fun and different than other FPS's.

ATI hasn't manufactured a DX9 card in years. Since existing drivers work for DX9 cards in all versions of windows, this is a smart resource-management move on their part.

If this isn't a tactical strategy game, then it'll be x-com in name only.

Totally disgusted, my time is precious thanks. Give me my money back and how about paying me 100 an hour for the inconvenience. Seems fair.

It's just a demo, you'll have the rest of your life to play the game, you're not that important, and if you are that upset then get a refund and boycott valve for the rest of your life because you didn't get to play a game demo 4-6 hours earlier than you were initially told.

In the meantime, if you cry a little more and tell everyone how much you have been hurt and inconvenienced over not getting to play a video game demo at a specific time, someone, somewhere, someday, somehow, might agree with you, somewhat. Everyone else will just point and laugh at how incomprehensibly absurd you are.

I'm not a big fan of hack 'n slash games, but after downloading the demo and playing for 15 minutes, I'm sold. This game is really, really polished, fun, and is incredibly cheap. The graphics aren't stellar but don't detract and the art works to make things look good.

I don't see it happening. Valve is in a position where they don't need money - every single one of their games are wildly successful, Steam is the most successful digital game store, and they've managed not to expand their employee base beyond unmanageable proportions. Their potential net worth is probably much higher than most people realize. Their IP's alone - Half Life, Portal, Team Fortress, Counter Strike, and L4D - would sell for an amazing amount of money. And with the nonstop growth of Steam, both in user base and in sales, the potential for future earnings is exponential.

Selling now would make no logical sense, given the extreme success the company has now and their potential for even greater success is being realized more and more each day.

Wolfenstein is the only PC game I've played with crouch and sprint forced toggled with no option to un-toggle either.

2dboy should have at least made the minimum cost at whatever the transaction costs were. I cannot believe 16,000 people only paid 1 cent. What a worthless group of inbred human beings. It'd be great if one of them were a mechanic, and they held a "pay whatever you want for an oil change" day. I'd gladly return their kindness.

Also, I suggest you all clear your browser cache after this too. Also make sure your neighbors are quiet about it. Format your HDD's, smash your car off a cliff, and lobotomize your children! Then vote Republican or Democrat to really screw things up even more. Then push that big red button to end it all.

Ship your PC to me, I'll make sure it all gets taken care of for you.

The publishers do not get more profit from a console sale vs. a pc sale. The extra $10 is because Microsoft charges for development kits and royalty fees. There are no dev kits and royalty fees on the PC.

I might get it, might not. There's so much to play in the 4 months its kind of hard to decide. The day one DLC is a bummer for me personally. I think based on what you said though that this is right up your alley.

Thank you very much sir.

I honestly think if you don't like NWN, you're not gonna like Dragon's Age...

Otoh, NWN's campaign was miserable trash, and Dragon's Age, to ME, looks really good. But the camera system and such all seem pretty identical to NWN.

This is what I am afraid of. It's so... impersonal. I may need to see some extensive gameplay videos - without annoying juvenile commentary, to decide whether or not this game is for me.

Soooo... even though Blue's has become a fighting ground of bickering comments, I'm still confident someone can give me a reasonable answer to my post 45 comments ago.

"Crushbug, or anyone else... can you sell me on dragon's age? Here's my dilemma: I *loved* the old school might and magic games. I actually replayed 4, 5, 6, and 7 this past year. I loved the original Lands of Lore. I also loved Morrowind and thought it was a better RPG than Oblivion - just not as polished. That said, I could not get into Neverwinter Nights. I didn't like the perspective, pace, speed... something. It just wasn't for me. Also, despite many of the good things said about the Witcher, I'm afraid to try it because I've read enough about it to make me pause. All this said, based on what I liked - is this game going to be for me?"

I have NOT watched the giant bomb video - I've seen a few off their website and their juvenile commentary really, really detracts from ascertaining objective knowledge.

For the most part, the digital versions will use whatever the digital companies use. For example, the Steam version uses Steam for its DRM. Off hand, I do not know what the other companies will use.

So does "name your price" include free?

I'm sure it does, but you can't fork over a few bucks, cheap*ss?
