On the whole Jobs / Apple thing...

Henry Ford was widely known to be a supporter of Adolf Hitler, but that didn't stop people from buying Ford cars.

Jobs personality? Just about as relevant.

2 pages and a Godwin. Congrats dude.

I think you're kinda missing my point: every person has their faults, but pooling disdain for one individual and dismissing the hard work of thousands of others because of it is somewhat narrow minded, IMO. Point was throwing all of Apple's employees under the bus because of Jobs is like crucifying Ford Motor Co. for Henry Ford's support of Hitler in the 30's.

Nolan made some good Batman movies.

I don't really care what his thoughts are on digital vs. film though. That train left the station a long time ago. He can sit around in the past all he wants to. I'm sure his millions will comfort him.

While I agree that the train has indeed left the building, he does make several valid points; not the least of which is while "digital post-processing" can add similar dramatic visual effects that filming with various ISOs do, they rely on "knowing" that the effect happens, and they don't always look right when added in post. Volumetrics, multiple exposures, etc. are just a few that still look awkward done digitally in post.

It may catch up, or some of those visual artifacts may just go the way of the dodo, like sword smithing did when rifles came around.

Only because Hitler was anti-Communist. Nobody knew about the Holocaust until the war was over.

Sorry, but that is kind of BS. Everyone knew Hitler was up to no good. Hate speech and antisemitism were the wares of his public addresses. Ford does not get a pass for ignorance.

I am REALLY looking forward to this title... The premise looks good, and I liked the fact that they've pretty much let the IP gel out of the public eye until now.

My only fear is that they become history with outside pressure based on "focus group studies, " now that the design is in the Wild.

20 hours is less than what most full games give you these days...so I'm not sure what there is to complain about.

Guessing you meant more...(?)

With the exception of the game it is an expansion pack for, you can probably count games released in the last 12 months that take 10+ hours one hand. Probably less.

This coming from the guy running the US equivalent of IP sweatshops.

News flash, EA: most gamers shop at Target, not Nordstrom.

Why would the PC need "remastering?" it already has high resolution textures and models. The 360 and the PS3 were not even out when Doom3 came out, and, as such, did not have native HD support.

Just sayin'

6. Re: Crysis 2 Steam Crisis Ends May 29, 2012, 22:50 ^Drag0n^

I believe that they disabled the "in-game content purchasing option" that the original (patched) release had. It cut the steam store out of purchases, which Valve didn't like, if memory serves.

IMO, I thought it was kind of silly to begin with (on both sides), but whatever.

And to think far too much of the gaming universe revolves around these two companies is a definite downer.
