There should be an cover system of sorts. It doesn't have to be "snap to wall" with jumping, rolling and extensive blindfire like the usual shooters. Indeed, the extent of it is probably going to be adjusting height and stance depending on the height of your cover. I just hope it is intuitive and that the AI makes use of it.

Those dance moves were raw motion capture converted like any other animation... not much extra time most likely

Also the time spent on bugs and AI really shows in the current state of the game in my opinion. With mods it is truly excellent.

Back to your old tricks eh, Surf?

For some it's the best game ever, for others it's not fun at all. Objectively, it must mean it's an acquired taste, just like any game. An "utter failure" I don't think so, especially judging by the numerous reviews, the good sales and large community numbers-boost.

Looks like you are wrong, and I see you never addressed my reply to your unfounded comments in a previous post of yours...

No one listen to this guy. Although dislike of the game is quite valid, it doesn't need to be expressed through trolling, exaggeration, fact-twisting and self-importance. It's thought and reason vs. 99.9999% of teh internetz.

"Poor sales"? Source, please.

"People are leaving the game faster than new people are picking it up." Again, source, please? Or are you basing your statement on forum posts and people complaining?

ARMA2 is certainly an acquired taste, and if my PC was up to it I would enjoy it a lot. DR will outdo ARMA2 in various aspects and vice versa, I expect, but we know so little about DR. The trailers give barely anything away, bar action-film style shooting, the odd explosion and a bit of dodgy running.

We'll have to wait until the demo before 'teh internets' are the only source of concrete information.

Why are you and others so personally offended by others saying ARMA2 is good? Why does it cause such rage in you?

Finally: "infantry sims blow ass" - an well-read, objective statement if I've ever heard one.

It does have bugs. Lots of bugs. Still, if you have a mammoth PC (and are lucky enough not to have performance problems) the game would be truly great. My PC can't handle it.

That's because the mission editor's so easy to use (for simple things) it only needed a short while to explain!

I don't think it looked too bad this time, obviously apart from the 'Hollywood-blue' moonlight (still evident in a very cloudy sky, somehow), along with the perfectly steady aim (even when moving), jogging with rifle to shoulder, back-broken crouched animations, wobbly jogging animations, intrusive DoF blur and low-volume (but close by) helicopter.

...Nothing that can't be fixed before release. I mean it wouldn't seem that bad if I wasn't a fan of the original OFP, in which a perfectly steady aim is heresy- let alone when moving. That and the other things just mean that it's very disappointing to an avid fan of the original.

Doesn't mean it'll be a bad game, perhaps for those who like their CoDs or BF2s. Ain't no Flashpoint, though.

Read.

The game runs well on my E6400 2.13GHz core 2 duo and ATi X1950XT on normal to high settings, with postprocessing, AA and AF disabled of course.

Try the demo first people. With a few patches, the game's performance issues on the mega-rigs will be sorted out. If you still want to, try it again with the latest patch in a few months.

Also, telling the devs via a forum thread here (they keep a close eye on it and will likely reply) will help the devs fix the game and help you get good performance. Obviously if you can't be arsed then fair enough.

Ahaha, why compare two very, very different games in terms of gameplay? You wouldn't even scratched the surface of ARMA2 if you played it for 6 hours.

@theyarecomingforyou

ARMA2 isn't the sort of game you can get to grips with, by looking at your post it is evident that you really know nothing about how it works. If it's not your sort of game then fine, but many of the "issues" you mention are not actually issues. For instance, to get in a vehicle you scroll through the action menu and press enter to choose "get in as...". To get out, use "eject" or "get out" in the same action menu which is context-sensitive.

Also your gun doesn't disappear- it's just out of your view. Try holding left alt and looking around whilst jogging, you'll see your gun below you

This game requires perseverance. It's not like CoD in that you can play it like any other shooter straight off. So many of the fans now have disliked the game on their first try, then become huge fans when they came back to it a few days/weeks later and got to know it.
