I don't know if it's really a sale so much as a price reduction, but Torchlight is now $10 on Steam, down from $20. I downloaded it, and I'm having fun with it. Not really blowing my mind yet, but I can already tell I'll easily get my money's worth from this one.

I'd like to see a few more 1vs1 games or 2vs2 would be nice also.

Same here, I've really been enjoying the Battle Reports.

It really wasn't much of a dilemma in the first game, as you didn't get that much more Adam from the Sisters, and if you didn't harvest any you'd get those gifts every now and then that would basically make up for anything you didn't get earlier.

It's much more along the lines of "do you want to be a dick or not, it'll work out fine for you either way" that's too typical of video game "dilemmas."

Gamerankings score is pretty good. The reviews were 9/10 on average when it came out. Unfortunately I can't confirm myself yet

I bought World in Conflict from D2D, and the 6gig zip file was corrupt when it finished. I haven't had time to deal with it yet, hopefully it will be easily resolved.

Great match, that was some really impressive micro with the Terran medevacs, both with the flamethrower buggies (Hellions?) in the beginning, and the Nuke-happy Ghost at the end.

Before this all turns into a giant bitch-fest that doesn't even mention the games we should be talking about, let me say that World of Goo and Defense Grid are both fantastic games, and I hope you all were able to snag them for $5 last week.

Sonofa... I paid the full $20 for World of Goo on Steam last week!

It's a very cool game, definitely worth $5. Whether it's worth $20 is debatable, but I felt like throwing my money to an indie game developer at the time, so oh well.

Yeah it was pure awesome watching people do Baal, Mephisto, et al "runs" for years of their lives. They'd get bored after a few months, a patch would arrive and recharge them for another 6 months or so.

Then WoW came and proved that there were even lower lows.

Hater. Way to watch people have fun. That's a great use of your time. WTF does it matter if people play the same game for years or play the games of the month, many times over for years? In the end, the guys running the same game had just as much fun, if not more, and spent way less money. I'm definitely not in that crowd, I like to change it up, but I don't give a fuck if people like to keep at a game they enjoy.

Please don't cite Spiderman 3 when listing Raimi's good movies. That thing was an abomination. Lame dialog, lamer plot twists, and that godawful emo-Peter.

OTOH, Bionic Commando: Rearmed, the refresh of the original, is pretty badass. Choose wisely.

Does this mean you'll be able to auto-download campaigns you don't already have? If so, sweet.

Unfortunately, Evil Genius was way better in concept than execution. It felt like the whole time you were just waiting for stuff to happen. Waiting for your minions to be trained, waiting for this research to finish, waiting to get enough money to buy something... The traps were kind of cool, and it was kind of fun to string traps together and make some room of uber-death, but there wasn't enough actually happening in the game to really make it stick.

Perfect Shot is pretty fun, but it looks like level 46 is broken. I clear out the one mandatory asteroid and it keeps telling me to try again

I didn't think the combat was that awful. I've seen better, but really, how many first person brawlers are out there? There's not much to compare it to. It's not like it took forever to take out guards, either. Ten seconds, more or less, and you could take down a guard, especially if you led in with a jump kick or slide.

I hope they make a sequel. I really enjoyed ME, and agree that it was one of the most innovative games I've played in years. Yes, it had its low points, but NO ONE has ever tried this before, so you didn't have much of a reference. I'd like to see the next game have more sections where what to do was more intuitive, so you could get into the "Runner's Flow" they talked about in the game, rather than the stop/start what do I do next kind of thing.

They could smooth out a lot of the rough spots in the sequel, and I hope they get the chance. Stylistically and substantially, this was one of my favorite games to come out in the last year.
