The name of this game makes it as appealing as wearing a pink shirt in public.

Perhaps you should try wearing pink. It really is a sexy color.

Cheers!

I've ran every edition of D&D clear back to Chainmail.

D&D 4th is World of Warcraft D20.

The designers of 4th ed have said as much. Say what you want, but the mechanics are similar. I knew it when I looked around at my players when I tried to run 4th ed and they had macro bars lined up in front of them (D&D Power Cards to keep track of your neat-0 powerz).

A de-emphasis on skills, emphasis on cooldown-related powers, the whole thing reeks of WoW's combat mechanics.

Apparently, you have forgotten that when D&D first came out it had no skills, just class abilities, so there is no used citing the older versions and decrying the de-emphasis of skills.

As I recall, the first official skills were added late in the development cycle of 2nd Edition.

Since I will no doubt want the DLC, I think I will just wait until it is offered for free or until Dragon Age is in the bargain bin before I purchase this game.

I just don't see paying more on day one for content. Call me old fashioned as well, but this feels wrong.

I think this would feel better if Bioware said, hey, here's a free DLC on day one as reward for purchasing the game. Instead, this feels like a slap in the face. I buy your game and then you want more on the same day?

Bioware, your timing stinks! Grow some brains and think about how this might make folks, who are already strapped for cash, feel after shelling out for your game.

As a longtime fan of Stardock games, I must say that this company has pissed me off twice this week!

First, they triple charged my pre-order to Elemental, causing my credit card to be frozen. Their idiot sales rep said that they were not charges but "actually only verification that the funds are available." Old Emily over there at Stardock failed to even account for the fact that I made one pre-order but was triple charged.

Second, Brad Wardell, who I HAD a lot of respect for had to go political. As a liberal, I would have preferred him to keep his political affiliation and his business separate. Whether I like it or not, I will have his political views in the back of my mind every time I ponder making an Impulse purchase.

I like to put my money where my mouth is, and I do not support right-wing conservative businesses when I can help it. Since I can help this, I am canceling my Elemental pre-order until Brad comes to his senses and take politics out of Stardock and gets back to making great games.

I am a little pissy with Stardock/Impulse this week. They tripple charged me for my pre-order of Elemental this week. My credit card was frozen and I had to deal with my bank to get it unfrozen. Stardock's response was "The 'charge' that you see on your card is actually only verification that the funds are available."

So, my bank froze my credit card because you were only "verifying funds"????? Bullshit!

My once favorable opinion of this company is quickly going down hill. It's difficult to be optimistic about this game any longer.

Time will tell if Stardock can get my situation straight =)

Sounds like they're creating a gay dating site. Some things you just can't social engineer, game matchmaking is one of those things.

Really? Another gay dating site for real? I'll have to check that out (sarcasm).

Stardock folks are honest, decent folks trying to revolutionize, or in my opinion, get back to the roots of the PC gaming industry. How about we give their new system a try before shooting it down?

Like any MMO, I suspect it will retain its hardcore fans, but I have few doubts that SW:TOR will cut heavily into SWG's subscriptions.

Cheers!

The worst thing about this game was the community. People who dropped when they got killed, when their teammates were not perfect, when their teammate ignored all their typing, etc. The tech issues aside, the people playing this game are just too hateful to be around.
