I like how the article zeroes in on specifics like how long kids play, then hypes the effect using generalities: psychological problems. I want to know how these "researchers" diagnosed these so-called psychological problems because I am pretty sure it takes more than seven days of questionnaires about daily activities to diagnose any serious disorder.

I am continually amazed at all the crap that comes out to scare parents and even more stunned at how many parents buy into the hype.

For myself, I try to remember an old German proverb, "Fear makes the wolf bigger than he is." I wish more people did so studies like this one would die away.

Cheers!

I have read every Civilization manual cover to cover since the first game was released and this one did not disappoint.

I think what I am looking forward to most of all is playing all of the different nations to see how each of their special abilities play out in the game. In previous games, it really did not matter what nation you played so I tended to stick with the same nations game after game.

I was very pleased to learn that there is no longer any more pollution to worry with in Civ 5. What a headache it was to keep your cities clean in Civ 4.

Ah well, just a few more days and my nation-conquering can begin once again.

Cheers!

I'm sure they'll terribly miss the drama queens they lose. Where will all the wailing and gnashing of teeth come from on the forums?

Actually, I suspect they will miss my dollars. Stardock's recently laid off staff will miss the money that is certain. It was a promising company, but they have two black eyes now and are getting beaten up pretty bad press-wise. Hell, even their CEO criticized their own product.

If you are content throwing money at a sinking ship, that's your business. I was only here to express my frustration and to perhaps warn others not to make the same mistake I did.

Cheers!

For what it's worth, it's really easy to get a refund. Coming here complaining that you should have bought Civ 5 instead is kind of disingenuous since you CAN get a refund on Elemental. Let's see you get one if you decide you hate Civ 5...

I tried getting a refund, but Stardock would only give me Impulse credit. They said because I paid with PayPal over 60 days ago (because I put faith in this company and pre-ordered), I can only get store credit.

Well I took what I could get, but I am here to tell you...I AM DONE WITH STARDOCK! They used to have my highest respect, but after getting the shaft with Demigod and now this piece of bantha poodoo, I am done with Stardock, Brad Wardell, and Impulse.

They have lost this customer for life.

I keep hoping they will give me a weekend surprise by releasing it early (for those of us with the Steam pre-download at least). I wants this sooooooo bad.

Civ IV just doesn't cut it anymore. I look forward to no more stacks of dooooom!

I just hope the actors look better than the NPC's in this game; they were all rather strange looking.

Love the game, but I think the NPC's could use some airbrushing or something.

Anything made by Cryptic these days turns to crap...oh wait, it does not turn into crap; it begins a smelly pile of pooo.

I certainly shall not be wasting any time or money with this game.

Beyond gross. Yet another reason to go vegetarian, or at least drastically reduce meat and animal product consumption, and never look back.

What do you think the crops are fertilized with, especially the "all natural" produce? You are what you eat, shithead

I shall prepare my scathing attacks on Ubisoft over on Amazon when I am able to post feedback for these products.

And I shall never buy a Ubisoft product so long as this draconian DRM persists.

I am tired of being treated like a criminal.

We have railed against draconian DRM before and won as a community. We defeated Starforce and we got EA to drop some of its harsh protections (Sims 3, Mass Effect 2, etc.). We can do it again!

Boycott Ubisoft's products and use the web as our weapon on every forum and every place their products are sold where we can leave feedback.

I will be doing my part, cause I am getting sick of this shit!
