The Bioware that made KOTOR doesn't exist anymore.

Bethesda's viral marketing is as deep as their plot-lines.

Portal came out yesterday, and today Left4Dead 2 came out. No Portal 2.

This actually runs fairly well using Arch Linux, the latest standard version of Firefox, and an nvidia graphics card.

If nothing else it's worth it for the massively improved load times for the Linux version of TF2. It went from taking roughly 3-4 minutes to have the game ready to actually load the server browser, to taking under a minute. It seems like map changes go much quicker now as well.

Not sure about the Windows version, I've only played it on Linux since it came out.

I still find it lame that they're basically ripping off the 'black oil' from X-Files. Whatever though. They made Enemy Unknown, and as long as they keep making real strategy games I will just ignore the shooter.

I found another way to download it. Navigate to the index page, and use the link in the top left corner.

Well, it could have been worse. Could also have been better. At least they're getting to work on putting Homeworld up on GOG (at least, that's what I assume from the statement.)

As for them developing a new Homeworld, I don't really see it happening. Gearbox has never made an RTS, or even anything like it. I would imagine if they judge the interest big enough, they'll farm the IP out to someone (Relic perhaps?)

Never underestimate ego and arrogance. Bethesda had never made a isometric turn based RPG before either, but that didn't stop them from buying the Fallout franchise and converting it into a shooter.

I can understand the point about them coming in late on DNF and trying to wrap it up, but giving them cover for Alien Colonial Marines is utterly ridiculous. They were the ones that got the contract. They did not come in on a half-finished project. It was theirs to screw up, and screw it up they did.

I hope the 'many worlds' interpretation of quantum mechanics is true, because then it means there is a universe in which companies like Looking Glass made it, and companies like Gearbox went bankrupt.

Good. I don't think a couple of no-name developers have earned the right to have a franchise like Homeworld just handed to them on a silver platter.

The problem with these mega-publishers is that they sacrifice everything for quarterly profits. You notice they aren't announcing a projected loss of money, just not as much as they promised their investors.

The mindset of large corporations need to change. They're so concerned with posting a good quarter that they'll literally screw over the entire long-term future of their companies to make one quarter look good for the shareholders.

I'm very interested in this but the devs seem to be suffering from feature creep (fancy roadmap or not), I think I'll just wait until its finished to grab it.

Feature creep is when you have a game in mid-development, and you keep trying to add new stuff to it, like Duke Nukem Forever. The features in Starbound were announced when the game was announced. It's always been ambitious.

I hope White Knighting Glenn Beck was worth it.

I'd rather people White Knight Glenn Beck than call anyone who disagrees with the Obmessiah's policies racist.

That's rich considering Glenn Beck once said of the president: "I really think he has a deep seated hatred of white people."

Ok I'm pretty much blown away. I can't believe that that is basically just a 2D scene. Looks so much like an old-school infinity engine game, but with 100% modern graphics.

Go Obsidian!!!

His beer show is pretty cool though, if you're in to that sort of thing.

Frankly good for him. He put his time in, made millions, and now he's doing what he loves, and that's a lot more than most of us can say.

It's nice to see Kickstarter put to good use in giving a small start-up the chance to fulfill a dream.
