Really, by now, AMD driver issues are a thing of the past.

Try them out on Linux and get back to me. That is the sole reason I'm sticking with nvidia. Especially with the Steambox on the horizon. AMD would do well by getting their Linux support up to snuff compared to their windows drivers.

Damn PC pirates owning more games than they can play! they did this by piracy!!!

Oh wait, they're talking about games people bought on Steam. Never mind, I'm sure the death of PC gaming can be found somewhere!

Yet if you own Fallout on Steam you do not even need Steam running to play the game. There is no DRM on it.

If you're going to consider digital distribution as DRM, then you might as well call the entire need to have a PC as DRM.

Battlefield 4 was the biggest gaming waste of the year, by far. It's 2013's Diablo 3.

That was the first and last pre-order I'll ever do on a Dice/EA game. I should have known better, but I got BF3 on that humble sale, and thought it was pretty good. I should have realized it only seemed that way because the people who paid full price had a full 2 years to beta test it.

I got Alan Wake and all related content for $1.00 on a Humble Weekly Sale, months ago. Overall I really enjoyed the game.

The atmosphere, and mood of the game world is very well done. It's an odd mix of X-Files, Twin Peaks, and Twilight Zone. The only thing that keeps me from really raving about the game is that the combat gets extremely repetitive.

It was a strange experience, because I was so hooked on the story and the atmosphere, that I forced myself to finish it even though I wasn't enjoying the combat. I almost wished I had just put it on the super easy mode to just basically watch it.

I have not tried American Nightmare, but if I do, I might just play it like that.

I'll buy it when/if it comes out.

As for crowd-funding, I'm done. Not one game I backed has been released, even though a couple of them were supposed to be out by now.

So wait. I don't follow this closely, so fill me in. They paid for the Cry Engine just to do mock-ups, and are now going to code their own custom engine for it?

If so, yikes....

Why would anyone give them more money for Diablo when:

A: They made enough off of the RMAH to fund a free expansion.
B: They still have not added all the content that was supposed to be in the retail game! The PVP stuff they promised is not there.

They really really need to put support for Linux on GoG... It's weird that they take such a hard line anti-DRM stance, and then ignore the only truly open platform.

Dumb ass me decided that since BF3 was fun (got it on the origin humble bundle), I'd go ahead and pre-order BF4...

I must have been temporarily insane, because I guess I just forgot how fucking horrible EA was. The game isn't as crash-happy as it was for the first month after release, but it's still got more flaws than should be tolerated from a "AAA" game.

Lesson re-learned... Again... No more pre-orders from anything under the EA label ever again. I mean it this time! This was "fool me twice" so the shame is all on me.

Personally the game became much more stable after a server update last week. I wouldn't have thought the server would cause clients to crash, but in my case that seems to be what was happening a lot. I haven't had a sound loop crash in days.

Played the China Rising maps a bit today before work, and they seemed like fairly good maps, but I haven't really learned them yet.

Given how 2 maps still crash about 80% of the time (Dawnbreaker and Siege of Shanghai) I really hope this is not the full release notes...
