This game is looking more and more like a pass/wait for bargain bin, for me. The best aspect of the Dungeon Siege series, at least to me, was the multiple party members you could control. Single character generic bullshit action/rpg, most likely suffering from consolitis as well? Meh.

I bought Alpha Protocol for 1.99 I believe in one of those holiday sales, and that was about a fair price.

No need to open the can of worms/dead horse kicking contest that is defining an rpg, is this game still like the previous two, in that you can control multiple characters in your party fully, in SINGLE player?

Yes/No, anyone? Dungeon Siege 3 previews seem to avoid this entirely, at least the ones I have seen.

So, has there been any definitive word whether or not this game, like it's predecessors, still allows for a full party controlled by the player? Or has it become yet another generic single character rpg?

I'm guessing the latter.

This game is slowly getting more stable in multiplayer... finally FINISHED a multiplayer challenge game by beating level 20, as opposed to either:

Getting bumped/blasted into an unreachable area of the map
Getting eaten through a shield by a yeti/troll
The ever present crashes to desktop/freezes for 1 or more players.

Great fun, but great frustration sometimes. Also there seems to be a real problem still, especially in Havindr arena, with items from chests falling THROUGH the map, maybe 1 out of 8 or 9 items or so.

Still, I've easily gotten more playtime/enjoyment out of this for 9.99 than any other full retail game in months.

Non-Steam version: Basically you can't play offline except for whatever insane period of days they choose, then you need to be online again. In other words, you are better off pirating this game if you have an unstable/infrequent connection, causing you to buy the disc version in the first place.

This should be intolerable to anyone who was upset with the online requirements for single player for other games, this is practically the same thing, especially since they rather ominously did not mention how many days grace you have been "check ins."

Another game boycotted, especially with their laughable $60 asking price for a dumbed down, simplified sequel.

Ah, that's enough ranting for one morning.


I may buy this in a few years when it's 5 dollars or less on some Steam sale, and that's a rather massive change for me, I used to be a diehard Bioware fan.

Yet another game, boycotted by me(an Economic Superpower, surely :D) because of GFWL. Congrats, People Can Fly.

Every time I see anything from Guild Wars 2, it looks insanely good... I hope I am not getting my expectations up too high for that game.

This game is indeed fun, but my previous opinion of "bug free single player" has been revised to:

"Occasional Crashes to Desktop, particularly in Boss Fights, requiring you to do the entire level over again."

Particularly vs the Orc General, and the Chapter Six boss fight sequence.

I hesitate to even try multi at this point, as I hear it is a horror show. Still, one of the best magic systems in a game to date. Although a Permanent Shield/Permanent Haste setting would be REAL nice, having to recast so often is annoying.

This game actually looks pretty interesting, if still a Diablo-clone with Spore's character creation tacked on. Hopefully it's not ruined with insane DRM from EA.

This game had better be good, make that GREAT, after the seemingly endless hype and chunks of information they keep dribbling out.

This game... looks incredibly slow paced, and not very fun. However, nice music in the background of that trailer.

Well, it wouldn't surprise me if they have a bit of a battle getting companies to release their games DRM free through gog.com, I am sure that concept scares the shit out of some companies still.

Add to that, a lot of those old companies no longer exist, and it's probably a legal mess finding out who exactly owns the rights to certain games... then there is the somewhat questionable amount of work that will go into getting X game to work in newer OSes, etc.

I just hope they start releasing more recent games; if it was any good I probably already played the shit out of it back in the day.

Where is my drm free Bioshock? I still haven't bought or played that yet due to that nonsense.
