Ouch, steam takes 40% !?! Rofl, that's horrible, considering they aren't even considered the publisher. Still, I wonder how it compares to regular retail.

This game will be great, if they can fix the "falling through the fucking floor" bug before everybody quits playing multiplayer in furious rage.

So... base building, is it back in this, or is this still a joke of a RTS?

On the one hand, it's nice to see this game hasn't been abandoned, but on the other hand, isn't it time for Ironclad to be working on SoaSE 2?

Also, I've never bothered to purchase Diplomacy, as my Empire is a staunch believer in genocide, so... hopefully the regular game/First Expansion getting the update also?

Some EA executive is pointing to these save games/unlockers and saying:

"See?! SEE!? This is why we should stop selling PC games, we were going to sell these as DLC for 20 bucks each! We just lost millions!"

Another useless teaser trailer, and an announcement about an upcoming announcement.

Is this really what studios think people want to hear/see? Some marketing company is laughing their asses off, having sold people on this idea of Announcements(Announcements).

Announcements².

Offtopic:

Blue, or any other moderators, ban "tearssss" already, he/she/it is just a spambot.

Ontopic: so basically a semi Xcom(old ones, not the new joke one), semi- Baldur's Gate/Silent Storm ripoff.

That could be good, if they didn't limit it to 4 characters, and refer to turn based strategy as full of delay and frustration. Oh well.

What the FUCK!? Cancel True Crime: Hong Kong, and keep pumping out bullshit CoD nonsense, with apparently some sort of online store crap attached to it?

I have to admire their malevolent cunning that led them to purchase Blizzard(and their bankroll) but what the hell, Activision needs to die immediately.

Ugh, Blizzard... why oh why did you sell out to Activision? Hopefully Diablo 3 comes out relatively unscathed, before the heat death of the universe.

Great!

...Now, let's make sure whatever game(s) get made with this license actually get released in the US this time, ok?

German only = not good for those of us suffering under Dragon Effect 2, and other consolitis examples.

I have a strong urge now to slap people in the face if they don't know what a Gate spell is, aren't instantly apprehensive when somebody mentions a Beholder.

Another dumbed down console port, I'll be skipping this and future Bioware titles, it looks like. Or 5 dollar Steam Sale!

Impulse continues to have horrible pricing schemes. Who would buy the Fallout series off of Impulse, when you can get them practically DRM free from gog.com, for less, as others have said?

Unfortunately they do this for basically every other game they sell also... it's like they are trying to fail.

Apparently DS3 does not offer multiple characters for control by the player. So basically this game has almost nothing to do with Dungeon Siege 1 and 2.

As flawed as those two games were, most of the draw for me was the multiple PC party.

DS3: Randomized loot(diabloish, aka 10,000 garbage weapons to find a few good items), consolized multi-platform release, but possibly a better story at least.

Somewhat off topic, but in most of these Dungeons related posts, people laud Dungeon Keeper Two more than DK1... that's mind boggling to me.

Dungeon Keeper seemed VASTLY superior to DK2 to me, in pretty much every way, except possibly graphically, depending on how much you feel you need hardware accelerated graphics.

Oh well, maybe I will give DK2 another shot one of these days.

This game is looking more and more like a pass/wait for bargain bin, for me. The best aspect of the Dungeon Siege series, at least to me, was the multiple party members you could control. Single character generic bullshit action/rpg, most likely suffering from consolitis as well? Meh.

I bought Alpha Protocol for 1.99 I believe in one of those holiday sales, and that was about a fair price.

No need to open the can of worms/dead horse kicking contest that is defining an rpg, is this game still like the previous two, in that you can control multiple characters in your party fully, in SINGLE player?

Yes/No, anyone? Dungeon Siege 3 previews seem to avoid this entirely, at least the ones I have seen.

So, has there been any definitive word whether or not this game, like it's predecessors, still allows for a full party controlled by the player? Or has it become yet another generic single character rpg?

I'm guessing the latter.

This game is slowly getting more stable in multiplayer... finally FINISHED a multiplayer challenge game by beating level 20, as opposed to either:

Getting bumped/blasted into an unreachable area of the map
Getting eaten through a shield by a yeti/troll
The ever present crashes to desktop/freezes for 1 or more players.

Great fun, but great frustration sometimes. Also there seems to be a real problem still, especially in Havindr arena, with items from chests falling THROUGH the map, maybe 1 out of 8 or 9 items or so.

Still, I've easily gotten more playtime/enjoyment out of this for 9.99 than any other full retail game in months.

To be fair, Magicka is not really a RPG at all, sorta off topic, but it had to be said.

As far as Daggerdale, this sounds more like a Diablo style(limited classes, lots of loot/combat, limited roleplaying) game with D&D rules? I guess we'll see at some point.

Hrm, from that rather vague interview, it sounds like Dungeon Siege 3 is no longer a full party control game. What a joke, that was one of the only things going for the series.

How the fuck is this okay with people?

Non-Steam version: Basically you can't play offline except for whatever insane period of days they choose, then you need to be online again. In other words, you are better off pirating this game if you have an unstable/infrequent connection, causing you to buy the disc version in the first place.

This should be intolerable to anyone who was upset with the online requirements for single player for other games, this is practically the same thing, especially since they rather ominously did not mention how many days grace you have been "check ins."

Another game boycotted, especially with their laughable $60 asking price for a dumbed down, simplified sequel.

Ah, that's enough ranting for one morning.

I may buy this in a few years when it's 5 dollars or less on some Steam sale, and that's a rather massive change for me, I used to be a diehard Bioware fan.
