I picked these up, with no real intention of ever playing them anytime soon. However next week, December 9th, Godfall (Challenger edition?) is going to be one of the freebies, I will definitely be installing that right away.

Hopefully the Godfall Challenger edition has the full game? It is somewhat vague, it has bonuses listed, so one would assume it has the base game, but who knows.

*Self Deleted*

Since the patch is out today, I won't bother posting possible bugs from yesterday. I'll download the patch and see what's up.

*EDIT* I guess they did break mouse look, can't turn left or right, but I can look up and down with the mouse. I'm tempted to delete the settings folder, but I have everything set up as I prefer, so I may just wait for them to patch the mouse issue.

The fact that companies have considered and implemented a block chain for a physical device fills me with dread. Imagine some server farm somewhere, just burning cycles to confirm that yes, that is indeed a Cyberpunk 2077 watch that you paid too much for, on your wrist.

Biggest problem is the XP Cap. You can't play with Bots or in Portal without a cap, even on servers with official rulesets.

I'll revisit this game in 6 months.

Yeah, I don't know what the fuck they are thinking with caps and other limitations in single player vs bots. I think there is also a cap vs kills for unlocks? Ridiculous, considering a lot of the upper unlocks are 800+ kills for a given weapon or vehicle. Hopefully they sort it out after they cut down on the straight XP farming servers in Portal, if that's what's bugging them.

Hrm, yeah, I guess I glanced at delisting, you're right, jacobvandy, they are leaving the servers up... that feels like a terrible mistake then; giving in to the DDOSers.

Well, what were people expecting? That hacking attempts and DDOS would lead to them leaving the servers up? Lol.

Cool, I am not nearly as hyped as I was before all of their development issues, but hopefully something fun to play still exists in this game. Hopefully they backed off from their weapon degradation fetish, but if not, as has been said below, mods.

Dammit, are they actually going to make me play more Dead Cells, to get to see the ending, and possibly conclude the story?!

Great game, I've beaten it a bunch of times now, but it really makes me wish it hadn't been a rogue-lite/whatever, and more of a traditional side scrolling action rpg. Starting from the first map every time they add something interesting got annoying a long time ago, and I hate having to look up charts online to see all the correct teleport paths or whatever.

Okay, feel free to hate BF2042. It's allowed. However, who the FUCK is buying Farming Simulator (Nth Generation), in such large numbers!? Is there a huge streaming following for those games? Are there just tens of millions of people around the world who want to literally do chores in a video game?

Consider my mind boggled.

Not that mysterious, I'm sure Chinese IP thieves have plenty of physical samples and have stolen quite a bit of assorted IP from GPU factories located in China, and are getting ready to just go out on their own. Didn't we just have a story about this happening, a few months ago, with another chip maker? ARM or somebody? Chinese executives and workers 'went rogue' from the global company and just stole the IP and factories and are running a new company now?

"all-time high" discount, aka highest discount, for the lowest price, that makes sense, even if it's a bit cumbersome. 50% discount is half price, not 150% price.

More on topic, I think I may pick up Biomutant from this sale, and maybe RDR2 on Steam finally.

Expectations were way too high for what Cyberpunk 2077 was going to be. Part of that is on CDPR obviously, but anybody who has played ANY CDPR game on release day should have known that Cyberpunk 2077 was at least going to be buggy.

I played through it starting on release day... it was rough but playable, and got patched as I went along. I'm looking forward to reinstalling it in a year or so with even more patches and mods, should be pretty insane by then.

Hrm, I guess the idea of the sales attracts people, even if the actual sale prices aren't that spectacular anymore. I would have thought it would be WAY higher than 26-27 million though... I always picture Steam as being a platform hundreds of millions of people use, although I guess timezones, people having to sleep, etc.

The biggest problem is lack of scoreboard and lack of classes. Why would they remove classes? Then there is the lack of variety of weapons. Big maps and 128 players was the draw here but they managed to screw that up too, and the lack of a server lobby is inexcusable. The biggest disappointment is that this is their most successful launch yet. Yeah. They already got your money.

Is it? Seriously, I have not read up on the actual sales states, I thought somebody pasted in one of the threads that BF2042 only sold like 7 million copies, vs 20+ million for BF4 or BF1 or something. Initial sales that is.

People have short memories. Every BF game starts out rough, either balance wise or bug wise, or both. BF2042 has some of that, plus the aforementioned missing features like Kill Feed and Server Scoreboard. It's definitely playable right now though, and it'll get better. I would be really interested in getting a developer explanation on why they removed those two features in particular. It does feed in to rumors that BF2042 started out as a BR or something else before going more traditional BF, but nobody will know for sure unless they literally come out and tell us.

Portal has such a stunning amount of potential that it almost doesn't matter how BF2042 turns out, in my opinion. People already have 'traditional' style BF servers set up there, if you don't want to go through the BF2042 version, and I don't think anybody has really spent the time to make a killer custom server setup yet, but they will eventually.

Bullet spread, comparative weapon damage, etc. all the numbers changes will come. I'd like to see them add more vehicles across the board in vanilla BF2042, but if they don't, there is always Battlefield Portal. More vehicles per map would definitely help with how gigantic the maps feel, in my opinion. It'd also keep infantry way more fearful, as they should be.

Biggest missed opportunity seems like not building BF2042 around the BFV building system, that's the only thing that is really bugging me at the moment. Literally the best change to the series in the past 5 games and they just threw it out.

I have finished plenty of rounds, so I don't agree with that particular gripe, but yes, there are a variety of bugs. The building collision thing, lol, I expect that'll get fixed quick. I killed a flying wingsuit guy with a jeep the other day via collision, so the important collisions are in there. Yes, also the maps feel way too big, for how few vehicles there are. There should be at least 2x the tanks and transports per team, if not 3x.

Gun balance is also off, but that's a numbers game that'll bounce around for the next year regardless. Memory fades fast, but I swear BF2042 is less buggy than BF4 was on release day. Now that game I could not play for the first week or so without crashing. I think it was about as bad for BF3 too...

BF1, BFV, BF2042 were all pretty stable for me on release day, just balance issues and some non-fatal bugs.
