I even have the Collector's Edition from the Homeworld Remastered release. In fact, the Mothership lightup statue is on my desk just to the left of me.

Nerrrrrrd!

I loved Homeworld 1; Cataclysm and Homeworld 2 weren't as good in my opinion, but I played those as well. I am a little curious as to what exactly the story will be in HW3, if I remember (and it's been awhile since I played HW2) the story was pretty much done at that point? Hell, even after Homeworld 1 I sort of considered the storyline completed. Homeworld Deserts of Kharak(sp) was pretty fun as well, so I'll probably play this regardless, but how the hell did yet another woman get plugged into a mothership, rofl.

FFS, my kingdom for an age bypass website like nsfwyoutube that actually works!

I'm looking forward to Alan Wake 2, the first game was pretty damned fun, although I had zero expectations for it. Since then, Remedy made Control of course, which is amazing. It's going to be such a huge step down in powers going back to Alan Wake's shitty gun and flashlight though.

Wtf, the game looks gorgeous, even better than the first, but what the hell is even going on here?

The first game, I interpreted everything to be her metaphorical battles against her own mental illness, and/or just straight up hallucinating or having psychotic episodes from past trauma. It always seemed as though the story was hinting that very little of the combat and monsters etc. were actually anything real at all, if any. I always pictured her as just flailing around by herself in the woods.

Now the second game, is she supposed to be imagining her whole tribe alongside her as she fights her internal monsters? This game will be even more depressing if so.

Nice! I have the ninth novel sitting on my shelf, I'll get to it in a book or two, I think. Finishing up Neal Stephenson's Termination Shock now.

Ugh, every trailer is age restricted, and now nsfwyoutube.com no longer works on these. Is there some plugin or nsfwyoutube alternative to use these days? I don't log into Youtube.

Correct, very few real world applications need blockchain or NFT bullshit.

Ubisoft is mostly doing this for the marketing, and the slavering madmen buying up every new crypto coin and NFT that comes out each day.

I can't think of what adding NFTs to a games cash shop or loot crates is going to be profitable for Ubi.

Loot crates and cash shops are all about whales chasing digital models and pixels that are worthless out side of the game. These things are already non-trade-able. What does NFT add?

Perhaps Ubi has thought of a way to use an NFT operation to cook their own books even more.

That's what their video hints at, and what I was saying, Ubisoft wants to set up their own version of the Steam Marketplace, where Steam runs the store, and takes a percentage of each 'sale' or 'transfer' or whatever of each transaction that takes place. Valve makes bank off of CS:GO skins for example, Ubisoft wants the same revenue stream, but apparently with more steps? Aside from the buzzword usage there doesn't seem to be much actual benefit to Ubisoft if these skins are NFTs or not, as long as Ubisoft can harvest %5 or whatever on each trade that happens on the store they are going to set up.

I hope that they run afoul of the same legal issues Blizzard had with Diablo 3's real money store, etc. I think the EU has stronger restrictions against this sort of thing? Hopefully Ubisoft gets sued before this thing really gets rolling.

Horse Armor, 2022 version? With some Steam Marketplace skimming for Ubisoft on top?

None of this seems like it's beneficial to customers at all.

Interesting. I played through ... the first two of these, I think? On PS2 or PS3, and I never got around to the third (or fourth?) game, so I may pick this up if the price isn't egregious.

I've been a fan of the Spellforce series for years now, in spite of it's rough edges. SF3 was pretty buggy on release, but it got patched up nicely. I did indeed seem to get this version for free on GoG, so I'll install it at some point and try it out. Die to my massed towers so my heroes get experience, nub enemies!

Before you read 7 & 8, I would suggest reading the prequels, it will helps complete the picture....

Specifically:
The Butlerian Jihad
The Machine Crusade
The Battle of Corrin

Outside the original novel which may be the greatest sci-fi novel ever written, books 5 & 6 are the best in the series, followed closely by 4.

Yeah, I started reading that prequel trilogy, finished the Butlerian Jihad, and had to stop. The writing is mediocre at best, and it feels like they could have compressed those three novels into maybe 1 novel. I get it, the AIs and pseudo AIs were pretty genocide-y, let's wrap it up.

I have 6, 7 and 8 to read or reread still, and I'm in the middle of Neal Stephenson's new novel, Termination Shock. Book 9 (the last novel, Leviathan Falls) of the Expanse also showed up at my house the other day, and that'll probably have precedence over finishing the Dune prequels as well. I may be dragging my feet for awhile on those, honestly.

Hopefully the Godfall Challenger edition has the full game? It is somewhat vague, it has bonuses listed, so one would assume it has the base game, but who knows.

It is not the full game. The story campaign has been completely removed. From what I've read, you get a boosted Level 50 character so you can try out the endgame content - and evidently they are hoping you'll like it enough to buy the full or deluxe versions of the game.

Copied from my post in another BF2042 thread above:

Alternatively, open up <Your Drive>:\Users\<Your User Name>\Documents\Battlefield 2042\settings\PROFSAVE_profile with notepad or some other text editor, and

Find and Remove these 10-12 lines that have:

GstKeyBinding.infantry.ConceptYaw

Save, and start BF2042. That way you don't lose ALL of your settings. My game seemed to autofill mouse for mouselook, so I didn't even have to reassign keys after that, it just worked finally in game.

I am rereading the Dune series now, currently on Book 6 (Chapterhouse Dune). I'm even going to read the son's books 7 and 8, which I skipped the last time.

None of these novels leads me to think a MMO Survival game makes any sense for Dune, but good luck, I guess.

RTS honestly makes the most sense(shout out to old school pre-C&C Dune RTS), either land based or orbital to planetary based, followed by MAYBE a FPS, at a few points in the storyline.

But the movie did really emphasize blade combat, so who knows.
