The subway system was unfinished, and might never get fully implemented. Their original idea was apparently pretty grand, then reality set in.

I have yet to have invulnerable NPCs, but almost always the main loot box for any Teal encounter is in the 'middle' of that little zone, just open everything.

Apparently I better finish the game now, before they bug up something else. I'm already way past this quest listed, but I think one of the other side quests is in infinite delay mode for me. I've been doing other random bullshit for in game days, and it's not progressing.

Nefarious, incompetent, anywhere in between, nobody should want to be the early adopter for this kind of technology, it'll be buggy and exploitable for a decade.

Even now, although it's never publicly happened, people have pacemakers and other medical implants that can be wirelessly interfered with.

Science Fiction misled us all, that there would be anything approaching good security practices or reliable programming for anything VR or medically related.

Hrm, I don't believe Groundhogs are an endangered species... I'd probably lean towards ventilating those rodents if I caught them eating my vegetables. I also wonder if he isn't harming their population long term by feeding multiple generations like that. You aren't supposed to feed wild animals, full stop.

Did they ever fix up Warcraft 3:Reforged, or is it still terrible?

Also, it'll be interesting to see how quickly the nostalgia glasses come off, once this Diablo 2 remake actually gets released.

?? I played through RE4 on PC, although probably at least a year after release... either a community patch or official patch(?) had fixed the mouse by then.

At this rate, they won't be done even a year from now. LOL

9 (or 8 I guess, now) game breaking bugs? Are you playing on PC?

New? At what point in history did the owners of any sporting team/event/whatever let random players criticize their product publicly without consequences? I'm not saying clamping down like this is good, but people act like this just started or something, lol.

Well, I'm mostly screwed at this point for moving outside the US for my job, I'm tied down by seniority and retirement, etc. I'd also take a huge paycut outside the US. It's a pipe dream for me now, although I am considering going elsewhere after retirement. I am just hoping the USA avoids spiraling into a complete clusterfuck with antivaxxers and homegrown terrorist groups and other dystopian shit. I'm happy for you, and these eventual Valve New Zealander people though! Enjoy it!
Unless you have citizenship in another country you'd probably be better off trying to move while you are working. Residency rules in most places want you to have a job. While I haven't researched it deeply, a casual look at a couple of countries told me it would not be easy for me to move permanently as a retired person.

You aren't wrong, and a lot of countries have perhaps unsurprisingly raised their immigration requirements for applicants from the USA and elsewhere in the last few years. I'd be screwing myself over if I tried to relocate now though, for a lot of reasons. After retirement, we'll see the status of the world; maybe somebody overstays their visa somewhere or something.

I packed up and moved to NZ 16 years ago. One of the best decisions I ever made.

My advice: don't worry about having the same job. The whole point of living in NZ is to shift your work-life balance in favour of life. You can get a similar job (but probably paid less), but you're no longer worried about chasing the rat race. If your car is 10 years old instead of new... who cares? You're driving it in the middle of nowhere surrounded by amazing scenery

Holy shit, what an awesome job Valve must be at this point: insane pay (probably), stock options (probably), interesting work, opportunity to get an easy pass to life in a non-insane country (New Zealand)... wow.

I'd love to be able to pick up and just move to New Zealand, and basically have the same job with the same company, as these Valve people are going to have.

I just hope whatever Valve ends up doing in NZ doesn't end up being a super spreader event.

I am real late to the party, but I've been playing Outer Worlds the past two days and... it's pretty good so far? Looks and sounds gorgeous, gameplay isn't amazing but it's better than I was expecting. I think I'm going to get an anti-entropy mod or something for gear, because all item degradation is the enemy of player fun, but aside from that, no complaints so far.

Writing is also interesting, although I am admittedly not that far in.

HBO Max is pretty awesome, among the current streaming services. Netflix has slowly become mostly their own shovelware shows, Amazon Prime rotates out good stuff quickly and has most good things moved to extra channels or rentals, Hulu has commercials, Disney, CBS etc. all have limited content.

They also have somehow convinced Warner Bros to release their new movies on HBO Max the same day they hit the theaters! Great in this plagued era, although to be fair, so far WW1984 was total shit. The sizzle reel was a bit unintelligible, but they did have some titles at the end, namely numero uno, Dune. At the very least, pick up HBO Max for a month at the end of 2021 for Dune.

It is a bit more expensive than the rest though. $14.99 or $15.99 or whatever.

It also feels like it's time for me to rewatch The Wire.

IIRC The Wire is on Prime, so no need for HBO Max if you already own Prime.

At least in the US when I look, The Wire is available to rent or buy on Prime at the moment, or if you have the HBO prime channel. That's hardly my only reason for having HBO Max or Prime though, I've been watching all sorts of new and old stuff on HBO Max, and Prime of course, is thriving from me buying everything I can to avoid going to retail stores.

If anything, I'm leaning towards cancelling Netflix finally. It's been awhile since I've watched anything I would consider good to great on that service.

This is like the second or third one of these clips with elaborate hamster mazes that I've seen... I'm not sure who is more insane, the maze creator, or all of us for watching these hamsters get lightly harassed by their owner(s).
