The gameplay looks very good, but I'm worried about the way they described the campaign. It alternates between the three races, which gives me this feeling that it'll be like 9 missions in total or something, and then for mission 10 you pick which race you want to win the storyline.

It seems a cheap way to make a campaign for all three races, and typically that means it'll be short and pretty forgetful...

I hope I'm wrong, because I want this to be awesome.

Well, you're probably not THAT far off on your guess. I doubt the single player campaign will be huge. I'm more concerned with them putting together a good Skirmish vs. AI portion of the game.

DoW1 Expansions, particularly the Dark Crusade, had a much better campaign than Vanilla DoW1, playable by ALL the races, with a Risk-ish map that rewarded conquests with veteran units and equipment for the heroes. Probably the finest version of Warhammer 40k so far, for computerized single player.

Once they get their foot in the door, so to speak, with this vanilla version, they can release more races and a variable campaign in an expansion or DLC.

What's up with that kid?

Phsyical or emotional trauma, or acting out for attention, no way to tell for sure.

But apparently all the TV people and the cops forgot about the OTHER, blue SUV that got partially hit as well, that rolled off camera to the left...

Did they have to use a fucking Canadian voice over guy though? That accent fucking irritates me so much for some reason.

He's not Canadian. I'm Canadian and sound nothing like that. I'm surrounded by other Canadians and none of them sound like that. This is how we sound, buddy.

Damn, I figured almost all Canadians sound like this.

Are these "sales bin" comments never gonna stop? I swear, I'm getting the impression not a single game is worth more than 10 bucks for these people.

Opinions will differ of course, but yeah, this game looks like a 'sale only' game for me. Thousands, perhaps millions of people, on the other hand, will buy it day one, practically guaranteed. Responses in this thread alone are mostly positive/day one buys.

If they had made ME:Andromeda a 6+ person party, isometric, sci-fi RPG, (with real time pausing!) it'd probably have been a day 1 buy for me, but then they'd probably only sell like 3k copies.

It's not like it's 25 years ago, where everybody bought a physical copy of the one big game coming out. So many games come out so rapidly now, if one isn't quite your cup of tea, and it's single player(mostly), you can afford to wait 6 months to a year for the price to drop and/or a sale to occur.

It's not like any of these mega-franchise, AAA studios are going to go out of business.

Hrm, looks like at best, another $9.99 or less buy from me, way down the line. I stalled out on both Mass Effect 3 and DA:Inquisition, it's been awhile since I've felt eager to get back into either one of those two games.

I think the last Bioware game I actually played through was ME2, and I struggled to finish that. On the other hand, I am feeling an urge to do another run through DA:Origins, just to compare it to the latest crop of party based rpgs.

Like many said in this thread, Bioware will probably make a few dump trucks worth of money on this game.

This is looking pretty awesome already...hopefully if it does well, they will add in the Imperial Guard, Tau, etc. with expansions or maybe even free dlc?

Probably not, but I'm still interested. I loved DoW 1, vanilla and with mods, could never really get into DoW 2, felt too much like a watered down ARPG or something, not enough RTS.

Wow, this looks pretty good, actually. Should be a nice counterpoint to Ruiner, for the top-down, Smash TV style action genre.

Added to the Wishlist.
Is that game even alive? Haven't heard a peep in like a year.

Pretty sure it is, but yeah they aren't exactly moving quickly. Apparently there was a playable demo at Pax, but I wasn't there to play it or anything.

Hrm, I'm tempted to go back and try once again to get into Path of Exile... that sounds like they are really putting some effort into making new content. Hopefully the drops aren't utterly ridiculous in their rarity to force people into trading still... ?

Disclaimer: usually a solo player in ARPGs, desire to trade with non-friends, zero. Farming currency to trade 'out of the game' is still reason to avoid for me.

These are funny enough, that I think it wouldn't be too ridiculous to have the next Thor movie to have a Darryl cameo. Assuming Darryl hasn't killed himself because he has to live with Thor's physique as a constant reminder of his own physical shortcomings, along with his general doucheness.

Looks pretty good still, with some noticeable ripoffs homages to Diablo 3, Path of Exile and possibly Torchlight 2 in there.

I'll probably try it out at some point; the queue really cannot be defeated anymore though.

8. Re: Battlefield 1 Winter Update Feb 15, 2017, 09:39 MoreLuckThanSkill

Played a little bit last night...aside from the obvious ribbons, didn't notice a huge difference anywhere, except for:

You cannot spawn into tanks/aircraft now, until AFTER everybody loads in. (for conquest, 15 players per team need to have loaded, etc.)

It's annoying, but I didn't really play enough rounds to make up my mind yet. Theoretically it'll make it more 'fair' for people trying to take a vehicle, but if you don't even have a SSD at this point, don't waste our tanks.

Class rank moved up to 50?!? They better not relock all the guns/items you get up to 10, ie. spread them out for more of a grind.

I'm at work so I can't check, but I still haven't even gotten Scout to 10, it's almost always more beneficial for me to play another class or drive a tank.

Yeah, very good bundle, I didn't even own everything in it yet.

Almost no shovelware titles, only Overgrowth is arguably a waste, and that game theoretically might get finished one day.

This game looks fairly interesting, from a gameplay/design standpoint, but hopefully the online related bullshit is all optional. D3 Seasons ripoff, clans voting, other stuff has been mentioned in a couple spots.

ARPGs will almost always get a test play from me, but the competition is pretty well established. I'm done with D3, but Grim Dawn has matured very nicely; they should be releasing another 2 classes this year.

Alpha or pre-alpha gameplay videos look a little slow though...I'm not going to bother playing Early Access, but hopefully a ton of people playtest it before I get to it.

Somebody mentioned in another thread on this game, it's the same company who made Van Helsing? Definitely looks like a slightly updated version of that engine, which I found to be a bit clunky and unoptimized, at least in the first two games. I need to try that Director's Cut or whatever re-release version still.

I need to go back and finish this game... one of many I've wandered off from halfway through. There are just too many games out.

Oh shit, I forgot all about that show...Wikipedia says March 19th for the premiere of the second season, nice.

Yeah, they actually got some real martial artists in ItB, martial artists who are also surprisingly good athletes, ie. Daniel Wu. Some of the supporting cast, not so much, but the fight choreographer was excellent in the first season, so it worked most of the time.

Did people forget that it's Communist China? The same guys that ordered tanks to roll over people in Tiananmen Square are (mostly) still around. They just make a lot more money now. Chinese teens should probably be thankful the powers that be have mellowed out so much.
