TB did a preview of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cw-HQWjkoj0

Looks kinda meh as far as "gameplay" goes. Great books though if you haven't read them. The Eisenhorn and Ravenor trilogies are fantastic.

If only they had any clue how to actually detect and ban them to implement this. Ubisoft is absolutely clueless in this area, its a problem in pretty much any game they make with an online component.

Pretty much. It's great they are going to ban people, but they have to catch them first! It's pretty sad that after 6 or 7 months they are now "evaluating" potential client side anti-cheats for an online only competitive shooter.....

I didn't play much Online. I'm looking for a good coop game to play with some friends. Is that a good option? There seems to be character progression and some kind of storyline?
Coop in GTA 5 is a blast. The heist are usually pretty fun (you need 4 people), and there are a lot of little one of missions you can do for various people. You can also just run around and cause chaos and do goofy things. Might want to play in a private lobby though, as public ones are usually full of hackers, at least they were a month or so ago when I last played

Why bother doing anything about cheating when they've made over $500 million in revenue from shark cards according to a recent article?

It really feels like most of the real talent has been taken off of GTA V / Online to go work on something new (either GTA VI or Red Dead 2) and they just have a skeleton crew pushing out easy content, like these adversary modes no one ever plays and reskins of existing vehicles that break all of the racing. But they are expensive, so they sell shark cards!

You are completely full of shit, you most definitely cannot ADS and move full speed, you are forced to walk while ADS. Not to mention the net code has been fine for quite some time now. Cheaters? Haven't run into any personally but can't say they don't exist.
I should have clarified I meant walking speed. Try it yourself. Stand still, don't aim down sights, move forward and shoot. Your bullets go everywhere but straight. Go back to the same position, ADS and move forward, you move at the same walking speed yet have 0 movement penalty and most shots will go straight on target with a little muzzle control. This leads to a lot of peaking in and out, strafing back and forth, which leads to a lot of cheap kills imo.

At least for me, there were too many issues to keep playing after a couple hundred hours. Glad you're enjoying it though!

This game has its charm, but it's still a far reach from the old Rainbow Six games. This is more of a twitch shooter. You can run around at full speed aiming down an acog site with 0 movement penalty. They also have had (and still have) quite a few issues with netcode, hit detection, and cheaters (lots and lots of cheaters).

Rainbow Six Siege should focus less on this stupid pro league and more on fixing their game and getting rid of all the hackers!

While I enjoy Siege, it still has a lot of latency issues and a few bad game designs (one shot headshots with any weapon from any range and no movement penalties to accuracy). I wish they would take this technology for the destruction, which is super cool, and make a real tactical shooter.

Pretty fun game, but there are still some issues that make it really frustrating. I'm hoping they get some of the lag compensation, player orientation, and first person view point fixed up soon. Having a blast in the game still.

yep, but you can still craft the cards using dust, which you couldn't do before. I'm curious to see how this all will play out. The most recent League of Explorers was a great adventure and brought a lot of fun cards. I'm hoping this "standard" mode wont' take 1+ years to change cards that are clearly unbalanced, as is the current "standard".

I don't get how Coop wasn't put into this. Would be amazing to explore the world with friends. Coop seems to be the last thing on people's minds these days, and I prefer it over any PvP gamemode.

You can also start a custom match to play by yourself and learn the maps. YOu still have a time limit, but it's great for running around and exploring.

I am really enjoying Siege, but there are a couple issues keeping it from being great. The netcode is slowly getting better, but I really hope they change the view so that it matches your head and bullets come from the barrel of the gun. Right now there are a lot of deaths where you are totally confused, because what you think you're doing doesn't match what the opponent sees, i.e. you are sticking out way more from cover than you appear to be.

While it is true that hackers have ruined the "Freemode" part of GTA Online, if you get into a large crew (there are plenty!) you can have a ton of fun with the game. The open world part is fun, but I mostly do racing these days. Once you get a good group of people together who know how to race, it's pretty awesome. And when you are done racing you can hop out and go blow stuff up for a bit.

I read they just had a recent patch that addressed some of the netcode issues. I'm hoping it goes on a slight sale next week. Looks like it should be fun (if they can get the netcode right). Took Battlefield 4 a while to work that out, but I don't know how much I trust Ubisoft

Their biggest mistake was using the Virtual Reality Engine from Arma. Their greatest success was getting all these suckers to buy into it before it was "finished".

Hopefully this update does something about all the modders on PC. It's nearly impossible to have any fun in GTA Online anymore because hackers either cheat at the freemode events, set everyone on fire, or just blow everyone up. Haven't been in a public lobby without a hacker in weeks.

$40 for early access? No thanks. I'm super excited to play this, but I'll wait until it is either mostly finished or further along before spending that much money. Plenty of other great games out right now.
