The AP does not determine the next President of the United States.
They have statistically calculated a winner, just like all the other news agencies.
It will take a month before official results are announced and another month after that before the cancerous orange effluent concedes.

So he will be in power till January?

So now we go from "excitement of an crazy process" to "house squatter reality TV" I guess. Also nothing is actually officially confirmed yet... (man, the news are a total mess right now, did AP announce an win too early? Someone clarify.

Far as I understand he is trying to stop the counting, which is even more absurd.... but are there really signatures on your vote ballots? Because in Germany that'd void your vote (since we have a law here that says it should be impossible to trace a vote to a person) instead, we pack the signature in a form in an envelope, and the vote ballot inside that envelop in another envelop that is thrown into the counting boxes (so you can't tell apart who mail voted or physical voted). Anyway, I hope you guys get this over with soon, I seriously can't stand this taking HALF of our daily prime news time. Why Germany has to report half of it's entire news on US elections is another matter for complaint.... anyway.

Good luck you guys.
Fuckface Von Clownstick is not trying to stop the count. He's tweeted it, which means fuck all from a fucking piece of shit.

Where do you people get your misinformation. JFC use google and a modicum of critical thinking.

The actual ballot is not signed, where the f@ck did you see that??!?
The ballot is sealed in a separate signature envelope.

I'd love to be in a country where the United States presidential election is only covered in the news 50%.
Over here it's covered 90%, think how lucky and blessed you are.
Actually Trump succeeded in stopping the count in one Pennsylvania county for 6 hours while they moved the observer area from 20 feet away to 6 feet away. (Nevermind all these locations have CCTV) That is his one YUGE court victory.

eRe4s3r, our system is similar to yours. Mail in ballots here in California worked like this..
- Fill out the ballot.
- Put it in an unmarked envelope.
- Put that in another envelope that has your name on it.
- Sign the outside envelope and put it in the mail.

Thanks. Talk about fake news in talk show talking points here in Germany.. sigh. Is that the same everywhere in the US?

Also RedEye9 maybe you should be reading more news ;p The he stopped the count (not the vote!) in at least 1 federal state for even 6 hours was major news here, since that is about as undemocratic as you can get. Thankfully a court curb-stomped that attempt.

Also to be fair, I am not googling US election news... ever. I get PLENTY of that in my daily news... and I wish I could have a filter-bubble without it, since it's completely irrelevant to me as a German. But the "how" is interesting, because I heard a ton of confusing news and opinions. Ps.: I am fully aware that I have a huge "no in the US" privilege with this topic, to me everything that reaches out of the US is however super confusing, since 99% is already translated I usually can't even find the original sources...

It's not broken. In a close election like this, it just takes time. As Philly 76er fans like to say, "Trust the process.".

A lot of people voted by mail this election and in most, if not all states, ballots postmarked by election day get counted even if they arrive a few days later. This includes ballots from our soldiers overseas.

As far as who's trying to block things for their own greedy reasons, I only see one candidate calling to stop the vote.

*insert skeleton meme here*

Well, I didn't need complicated reading to figure that out, even as a German. Why? Because the AFD likes both Trump and Biden That should give you some pause, because it certainly gave me some....

also, it's exactly as entertaining as I expected

In this case, I mean from 2004 to 20h2 ^^ since I managed a tiny bit more than 1 PC...

More like "Vampire the not Masquerade" since battles on the streets ain't what the setting is about... the source engine game already butchered the setting well enough with that god awful 2nd half.

Dunno about Stuttgart but I live near the BER, not close enough for noise to matter, but close enough to have been there in 2014 to tour the site.. it looked about as done as it does now. Except now it also just looks outdated design wise. And yeah, it's still having that as a feature... just with ventilation that actually works, it literally didn't before. Just one of many reasons it took forever.
Really? Wow. When I first learned about it my very first thought was, "How the hell did an fire suppression system which routes smoke DOWNWARD ever get past the initial idea phase?" It seems nonsensical... weird. If you don't know about Stuttgart 21 you should look it up. It will make you feel better about the SNAFU of Berlin Brandenburg -- after all, misery loves company, right?

^^ Well what you gonna do when you notice mid-construction that your ventilation system can't be put on the roof because it's 2x as heavy as you planned for. And yes, there are many many many anecdotes like this for entertainment. Tis what happens when architects design an airport who never designed anything larger than a lobby for a hotel.

How they got the job? They were the cheapest. Not even joking. Welcome to gov contract law. Lowest bidder wins.

and it for sure looks like it now too.... unbelievable really.

On the upside, BER is finally opening.. lmao.. my favorite local running gag ending.. because it's opening.. oh yeah, right in a pandemic lockdown where all tourists are supposed to leave by monday. I mean.. just.. wow. Highest numbers in Germany since we started tests.... it's gonna be a total shitshow this xmas....

Upside is this uptick also doesn't look to be as bad. While it's still highly contagious the actual virus seems to be much milder now thanks to a dozen or so mutations already. I guess we'll see in a few months if that's really the case. Everything is starting to go back into lockdown. Yeah, I dunno how well that's going to work. I think a lot of people are near the end of their rope with this thing both psychologically and financially. I've seen plenty of news reports of restos and gyms and what not all saying 'Fuck it, we're staying open regardless of lock downs because if we don't we're done.' As someone who's been a small business owner for a lot of my life I agree. Unless the gov't is going to compensate them you can't ask people to lose their livelihood. Christ, even with eminent domain you must be compensated for your loss.

Compensation rule exists, 70% of last months income for November lockdown period.

Noticed that, what a complete shitshow that project was... tell me, did they do away with the fire suppression system which routed smoke through the basement? The other huge German SNAFU -- Stuttgart 21 is going strong though (at least as far as I know)...

Stopped reading after ...brilliant RPG

Sure, not every game needs to be serious, but if you have a story that makes zero sense and then have decisions that have zero impact you are long gone from the throne that is brilliance and entered the realm of mediocrity. The only time they risked anything was with Tyranny. And now Kingmaker plays in that void while Obsidian has become irrelevant. If I'd expect a good rpg from a developer, it'd not be Obsidian anymore, and that is sad ;(
