I believe there is a Ghost in the Shell episode about this... not as fun as it sounds when this shizzle gets hacked and the matchmaking AI decides to create an interconnected sex-cult

Better be careful.
This is the 2nd time you've agreed with me this year.

This has been a thing for 20 years or so. I thought everyone took this kind of thing into account.

From what I am reading they literally took the effect pattern of an actual epilepsy testing device and put it as loading sequence for their brain-dive gameplay element.... that sounds to me like either 100% malicious intent, or just super overworked artists who took quick shortcuts without thinking. Either way, that ain't something your average Quality Assurance ever catches...

And by the way, this makes it quite a bit different, even with warning to use the actual pattern of an epilepsy tester is downright horrific. That will trigger epilepsy in nearly EVERYONE susceptible to it and only doctors ever use that, in a controlled test environment.

Look for AMD's RT to improve significantly as the RX-6000 drivers mature.

AMD Drivers to mature? An oxymoron?

Sorry... had to take a dig at the AMD GPU driver team... I'll just say... we'll see.

The drivers have been fine for YEARS.

Considering all the issues AMD users have with TW:W2, at least the ones I see in the steam discussions, I would say.. DOUBTFUL ^^

I don't see how blocking outgoing powershell is going to do anything against this.

PowerPepper first tries to leverage Microsoft’s Excel as a Web client to send DoH requests to a C2 server, but will fall back to PowerShell’s standard web client, and ultimately to regular DNS communications, if messages cannot get through.

Detection means noticing the threat is there, and blocking powershell gives you a VERY big notice if you catch this. Assuming you don't block it in the windows defender firewall.... that is. Because you can't block windows services there... absurdly.

As for against this threat? If you run malware that is customized nothing is gonna safe you...

or you know, you could just add

%SystemRoot%\system32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe
and
%SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powershell.exe

to your local firewall outgoing block rules....

I would hazard a guess that using the webclient of powershell isn't exactly a popular method of doing anything remotely.. I would at least.. hope...

2 things wanting to update... 1 is Warhammer 2 with mega patch and new DLC.. 1 is Wolcen... it is.. not a difficult decision

So, is that disappointment in the changes coming in Wolcen? I know people love Warhammer 2 on Blues, but surely somebody has Wolcen and has tried these changes, and thinks the game is... worth getting now?

It's so close to Cyberpunk 2077, but I can always do some ARPG grinding, if the game is actually good now.

*EDIT* I guess nobody knows, because their servers are offline, and apparently single player offline is disabled too at the moment.

I guess I'll check on the game in a few days.

Well at least you can tell that I still have Wolcen installed... and when trying out I couldn't even use that time to do THAT because WH2 updated and the servers were down. ~.~ Played Mindustry instead.. and Creeper World 4 heh works for me.. but definitely not a + for Wolcen since they now COMPLETELY KILLED modding by removing offline characters. You *HAVE* to be online now.. blegh

Wow... Just imagine how many great games would have been ignored if this was a common feeling...

Yeah, we'd have less BOTW clones that pretend but only clone and maybe some real competitors that try to aim higher. If I am being cynically about "Ubisoft open world games" you really only can blame Ubisoft.. and their horrible systemic open worlds.

Shouldn't the word "release" be in scare quotes?

Looking at EU availability (0%) I'd say it shouldn't even be in the headline along with "available" because it ain't, you have to queue, that is the OPPOSITE of something releasing and being available. Oh well

I have to agree with Tact on this. Absolute idiots have been in abundance since the dawn of humanity.

I have found that this typically boils down to a single fact. They become so invested in an idea, or ideology, that they cannot divorce themselves from it because it means a significant loss of time, effort, energy, and sometimes social groups and money, It's the sunk cost fallacy.

What has made the amount of them visible is the internet, as has been said before, along with global news coverage. It is now easier than ever to get news from around the world than at any other time in history.

If there is no way to catch them and drag them screaming back into reality then humanity as a species has a problem. As I said before, I never had something like this come this close into my personal sphere. We have heated debates about politics, heck none of my friends vote the same as each other or have same opinions, that's the joy of it. But being a covidiot, a Karen or a flath-earther is not an opinion. That is the willful choice to ignore literal visible reality in front of them. Is that really something that was always there? And we just never had a real big trigger for it where I live? Because my goodness is that a scary AF thought.
