If this were Ubisoft or EA I'd be worried, but it's only Take Two...

I don't see what Hawking is worried about, firstly he is not gonna experience it no matter what, and secondly the end of our civilization would be a good thing.

Not necessarily. If he is buried and his neural net brain survives with links and so on relatively intact, it is possible for a technological resurrection using nanotech. Not particularly likely, but possible.

And rewarding such folks with healthy bodies might be seen as all but a moral imperative to those in that world.

Death may even be something impossible to achieve permanently, depending on the tech and number of people.

of course intentions will be something to consider in that case though and I sure wouldn't want to be resurrected against my will, because let's face it, without an AI that creates paradise for us and prevents us, defiantly and for eternity, from destroying it, we are going to destroy this planet and our society, capitalism is already on a good way doing this. The only way we as human species are going survive in more than caves and plant cloths is if we develop advanced AI and give it the ability and power to shape our environment. If it wants to kill us then it's only speeding up the inevitable, and if not, then we might have found paradise through technology and saved ourselves from certain doom.

And Hawkings, much like Elon Musk, are not AI developers so I always take their opinions on AI with 50 grains of salt. Understanding physics of a black hole does not make you a good oracle on future tech.

Facebook to Fight Revenge Porn by Letting Potential Victims Upload Nudes in Advance

I thought sure that link was from the Onion.

Interestingly, Sia just uploaded a nude photo of herself for that reason.

Sia just ranked up from "who is this, oh.. the singer" to "my god I adore her actions" for me.

Aren't you bedazzled by the fantastic technological marvels though? I mean 280 characters in a single post! That is utterly ground-breaking, no, indeed astoundingly useful... next they are gonna invent emails!

So it's still fairly arcadey? But what about replay value? I've read that there seems to be a fair bit, and that's what's most important to me (sorta like Contracts from Absolution). Though I'll definitely wait for a sale.

Maybe it's me, but after playing all the missions I found no reason to go back and replay... and while the contracts themselves are complex, once you "understand" a map they are extremely easy.

Ps.: Of course I feel the need to mention that there are indeed a ton very varied missions within a sandbox map. So when I say "all", I mean I had a good 80 hours gameplay

who the hell still uses windows 7?

Uh lots of us because we give a shit about our privacy. Only idiots use Win10 willingly.

Only an idiot thinks their online pc has privacy. And you of all people telling us daily corps and govt's have us by the nuts. So in this case, you want us to believe in your fantasy-land that your pc is private and secure from them? LOL at best.

To the other guy about the Win10 Start menu being bad, it is superior to 7. My guess you just don't understand it all that well and take advantage of it and that is without any 3rd party apps, but if there was an app to improve it or other things, that is the beauty of a pc.

Yeah the start menu is a notable step up, being able to pin literally everything I want to it (like SMB links) is nice too and the application search actually works this time around.

Given that AMD sells more GPU's to miners then gamers that should not be surprising, AMD cards are overpriced due to demand and hard to find.

Considering I had to actually go Intel/Nvidia exactly because of that reason this is probably very true. I got a really nice package deal for the I5 8400 and decent Asus board for 300 and 1700 Ryzen would have cost that just for the CPU (and yeah, this upgrade forced me to Windows 10)

Equally I had to go 1070 GTX because NONE of the stores that I looked at had a decent AMD gpu deliverable within 6 weeks. I needed my system STAT so I picked what my price point was. 500 for a GPU and the gpu is pretty damn great, runs Wolfenstein II at nearly 110 fps, 144fps on a 144hz screen if I set the details to high and that feels REALLY nice. Never would have expected that this could make such a different to how a game feels... dang, I have to replay Doom ^^

... actually this is the saddest post I made this fucking year mainly because I know my history (even though I am German) and because I realize that things are different now. Because just think how fucking bad things would have turned out if instead of Roosevelt we would have had Trump or Obama in charge back then.

And who even pays taxes now? Only idiots and poor people is who.

Build / Doom engines were NOT easy to use. Sure it was simple to replace a sprite, but that's about as much of a 'mod' as applying flame stickers to the side of your car and telling yourself it'll move faster. Making a new map in those engines was rough, especially if you found yourself attempting to make legitimate 3d space.

Quake 1,2 (same with Unreal / UT / Lithtech) were the next step and the first really substantive 3d engines available to the public. Still rudimentary but at least you could place player accessible geometry over existing geometry for true 3d.

I remember Unreal editor being a huge step up because it used negative space for it's level design and how quake & doom if you had accidentally left even a minuscule part of your level open to the "outside" you'd crash. Unreal was all "Since you carve space out of an infinite block that doesn't matter any more!" and there was much rejoicing.

Unreal editor was also the first level editor where you had basic "What you see is what you get" abilities which changed everything. And how is making a level in Unity difficult? You make geometry in 3dsmax, drag the file into Unity and it works it literally can not get any easier. Build Engine, you have to literally carve a BSP-Tree that if even 1 tiny vertex isn't aligned just right will throw a leak error and not compile the fucking map. Gods, I have sudden flashbacks to the HL1 level editor.

And god forbid any of your geometry intersecting and peeking with even 1 vertex outside the carved space.... (makes detailing surfaces such fun)

Nobody talking about the other interesting shifts?

AMD lost major market share in both GPU and CPU statistics. In GPU's Nvidia now dominates with 81% (May 2016 56%) for a massive gain of 25% and in CPU Intel dominates with 90% (May 2016 78%)

This means Nvidia and Intel dominate in China. And this would explain why analysts already dig the grave for AMD.... Steam is a pretty strong indicator on what is where with gaming on PC. And 80% GPU market share for Nvidia and 90% CPU market share for Intel is kinda scary

If you are confused about DST, just call it summer and winter time like everyone else. Winter time is the real time by the way, Summer time is the fake time.

I would be for generally keeping summer time (by shifting the time zone -1) and problem solved.
