the next expansion is paying tribute to one of the most famous branches of the US Army: the Marines!

I really hope, for their sake, that was a joke. Otherwise I fear for the safety of the dev team.

Enlighten us foreigners what you mean. Isn't the USMC part of the US armed forces?

Pretty much a no-brainer. If you can't see where the wires are going\terminating, then I'd be suspicious.

One of the first times I recall seeing a 'free charging station' was in the waiting room of a auto repair shop. I tried to follow where the wires went, but when I couldn't, I just waited until I was back in my car to throw it back on the car charger.

Call me paranoid, but you can't be too careful.

Especially not when the USB cable itself could be the malware delivery tool. Only charge with your own hardware and never EVER from USB anything anywhere where you do not personally control all devices involved. If you have sensitive stuff on your phone, paranoia is a misnomer, being careful with your most sensitive data is common sense.

For a moment I thought this was a recorded movie.... Unity 5 is really damn impressive. If only KSP would utilize it properly..

And there is no 4GHZ Intel Core i7-4790 either, that thing has 3.6GHZ

Uh what? The i7-4790K absolutely has a base frequency of 4GHz and a turbo boost frequency of 4.4GHz and the non-K variant has a turbo clock of 4GHz so it will run at 4GHz, too, as soon as some load is on the CPU.

Did total nooblets make that listing with zero clue about hardware???

Ahem....
i7-4790 without that K has 3.6GHz and turbo clock on that only triggers if the load is on 2 cpu cores (as in the application uses AFFINITY=2), not on all of them. XBONE has 8 cores after all, so doubt the engine doesn't multi-thread properly
If they meant K they would have said K.. or maybe not.. considering the rest of these requirements ;p

I'm unhappy it's on consoles, since it'll diminish the experience on PC

The joke is those hardware requirements A FURY X doesn't have 6GB VRAM And there is no 4GHZ Intel Core i7-4790 either, that thing has 3.6GHZ, and there is also no AMD equivalent to a friggin 4GHZ (Turbo clock or OC) i7 4790.... (which they must have noticed internally otherwise they'd have written the equivalent like for min reqs ,p)

Did total nooblets make that listing with zero clue about hardware???

Edit: Even better, there is no I5 4460 with 2.7GHZ.. the thing has 3.2 GHZ.. seriously, wtf?
LOL! I didn't even read the specs part.
Smells like a job of a console-lovin' intern...

Also, Intel Core "17"?

Time travel confirmed

Making a spiritual successor to Descent is a lot easier than making one for Freespace or Wing Commander. $300k wouldn't be enough for those.

But $300k would make you a passable X clone, smaller in scope but easily more detailed and with more "fancy" GUI, economy and scripting, the engine for it, Unreal 4 or Unity 5 are both more or less "free" and no matter what you did, nothing you COULD do would make it worse then Rebirth

Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed Cities Skylines very much. I've spent countless hours in it. I'm just saying that if they want me to buy expansions, I'd like to see more than just new effects. You know things that affect the gameplay systems too.

Both expansions have done that... the first with the night cycle... and this one with the snow.
Nearly all of the existing mechanics can be separately set for day and night creating a a totally different city dynamic between day and night. (Also that fucker broke my power grid which ran only on solar, took a bit to figure out why my city was running out of power at night right after the upgrade).
Snow plows are a new game mechanic that is not just cosmetic.

But all that does is add a new service building p, Hardly adding ANY challenge or depth whatsoever.

Anyway, for the price it was it was a great city builder, but once you reach your 130k people or whatever you pretty much seen it all, and every city builds the same. Literally.

And that's coming from someone who actually made new service buildings for the game (replacements of vanilla sewer/coal and garbage) and put em on the workshop

It was a great time for when it was fresh, but at this point I want real expansions, not just visual fluff and 1 new service building. Weather is nice, but weather alone doesn't add any challenge. Just an extra cost.

And tourism is still totally borked in Skylines too

He said he wanted new gameplay systems so I gave specific examples of new gameplay systems.

True enough

After a mere 66 hours I have to admit find this game incredibly shallow and boring ;/ Every city is the same, has the same problems and the same solutions to those problems. Not to mention that I think their expansions just flat out do not add anything of worth to the actual core gameplay loop.

And yea.. death to Chirpy!

7. Re: Dark Souls III Intro Cinematic Feb 10, 2016, 01:30 eRe4s3r

The thing about From Software games is that they have near infinite side things and near infinite sub-details going on you can easily miss. Imo the big difference, story aside, is simply the atmosphere, that feeling that the people who made Bloodborne wanted to make a world where no detail in a level was "pointless", where every character had a story and, if you explored everything, you could deduce it not just by item descriptions but by pure level design. That, and let's face it, the hub room is a kick-ass idea and executed infinitely better than the portal maze in DS2

As I said, subjectively to me, the setting in Bloodborne is merely better. But that does not mean the setting in DS is bad, I just find it boring because I feel like I've heard that or a similar story 50 times already. At least in Bloodborne they mixed Lovecraft and various other ideas (Soilent Green in some way ,p) to create something fairly unique.

Doesn't mean gameplay wise BB is better But sometimes gameplay is indeed not everything. I prefer a tamer combat akin to Bloodborne, that gives you more options in terms of surviving and less "cheap" death traps, like DS2 has them by the boatload. Some people like that, some people don't

Just think BB should be on PC so that we have a contender for Dark Souls, which I feel is like the only game of its kind on PC.. which is really strange and makes the fact BB is not on PC all the more weird.
